Reminded me that I am getting old. A task that could have been done in one day took me three days.

(on my knees)  Work for 15 and break for 45 min. Work for 15, break for 45.

138 holes to drill. Fuk those battery drills. Got out my corded 35yr old craftsman 1/2in drill and it never stopped.

Wore me out.

To make matters worse, I slipped and fell on my hip. Inside of my elbow smacked my ribs.

Sore for days. Hell of a time getting up and I thought of those commercials with the old women on the phone

saying "help, I can't get up." Had to roll over and push myself up with one arm.

I want to put one of these in it and make it removable.

My Son Kevin drives truck and delivers to the guy that sells them.

The guy is anxiuos to get the word out and sold this one to Kevin with big discount.

If I get to meet the guy, I will ask if he would consider a group discount.

We shall see. fwiw, I put that one together for Kevin. Works good.

That's supposedly the right way to do it, but fuck all that work, throw down a sheet of plywood and a couple screws.

I used a thin piece of shit wood I had laying around (osb I think) on mine as a quick & temporary fix around 15 years ago.  It's ugly, but holding up to the shit ton of scrap metal I have in it.

Some supports (depending on side rail height) and inexpensive or scrap 2x4s to create a pitch for water to run off.  Paracord to lash the four corners together underneath so it doesn’t blow off.

Mine is sometimes covered, mostly to protect whatever's living in it.  Surprisingly, I don't use 2x4s or other stuff to create a pitch, turns out that just raising the tongue does that.  Crazy huh.  I'm not a pro like Mike so I don't use paracord, just whatever junk string/rope/wire is laying around.

Oscar, I already did that yrs ago.

The rotten wood was starting to fall out on the hwy. HAD to re-deck it.

Bought that trailer in 2004. It was one yr old then so, the original untreated, never tarped 2x10's remained twenty yrs.

I chose not to treat the wood and even used a few good weathered 2x10's. I won't be here in another twenty yrs.

It will be fine.
