SwampNut Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Finally, useful delivery. Groceries? Who the fuck cares. Restaurant…meh, I have a pantry and can live on a can of beans. But last night at 9pm I ordered some project parts from Lowe’s and they arrived at 7am. Fuck yes. Last week I needed something for a project I was in the middle of, and HD had something like a four hour window. Ordered and they were there in less than two hours. No cost if the order is $25 or more, and I think $8 if not. 1 Quote
DaveK Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 That is pretty cool. Especially the no delivery fee. Quote

Both make a big deal that it's just left at your door. You have to PAY to have them ring the bell and bring it in. If we add gun parts and motorcycle parts, now I have 100% of my oh-shit missing parts project needs covered. Quote
blackhawkxx Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 With Walmart+ they do same day delivery without cost if it's in a local store. With groceries, they ask for a tip but not mandatory but still no contact. Everything else just shows up. Quote
SwampNut Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 It does seem like everyone other than hardware and parts was doing it (IE, nothing useful, LOL). I'm been saying that what we really need is UberHardware, not UberEats. 1 Quote

I ordered a large tool box from HD and it arrived the next day in a box truck operated by a father and son duo. Free shipping. They brought it in the garage and set it up so I threw them some cash as a thank you. They seemed shocked like they don't often receive a gratuity. Ironically, the same duo also delivered two new toilets my wife ordered. 1 Quote
DaveK Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) Funny... after your post about this service I immediately canceled my "pickup" order and had it delivered. Edited January 6 by DaveK 1 Quote
