So today we're doing both CV axles and all four struts. He bought himself a Milwaukee M18 1/2-in compact impact wrench.

 

We were trying to figure out what the four settings are at the bottom and they put them in IPMs whatever that is. From what I can gather the four settings are just different speeds, it's not actually torque so then what?

Guessing it's impacts per minute.

The speeds will relate to a torque, but it'll vary some with different socket types and sizes.

 

My Milwaukee M12 and Ryobi impacts' lowest setting are not just speeds, they're torque sensing settings.  RTFM.  I rarely use it, but it can be handy.
