FFFFUUUCCCKKKK. It blows. It might be it for the season.

I was pretty amped up for this event, I mean last one for the season, so you can be much more aggressive because if you wipe out you have all fall, winter and spring to fix your bike/ heal your body. It blows. Really.

Weather is nice, probably gonna paddle board tomorrow instead.

Curious what happened. They are doing construction at The North Course, it'll be different configuration next year, and there was on going issue of water coming up thru cracks in the pavement when the sun was heating up the surface in the afternoons. That's what I hope.

The other possibility is pretty grave, they were riding today.

It’s pretty shitty up here in NEPA and NY with the storm rolling through. I know it came up the coast - residual storm shit?

Weather today is absolutely perfect for track day. High in low 70's, sunny. I wasn't even gonna bother with setting up canopy. 😭 Sad.

Well, I've chosen credit +10% instead of straight refund to CC.

Heading to Putnam this weekend. For some unexplained reason I have never been to that track. Watched some on oboard YTs, looks like fairly technical track, not much WOT or heavy braking. Pretty much seconds gear everywhere, 50-90 mph turns except for short 150ish mph straightway.

Weather looks phenomenal for early October, chilly mornings but highs in low to mid 70's.

Info gathered in 3D from The Man. Black Mamba.

It was deteriorating track conditions due to ongoing construction.

They are building new section that will connect old turns 3 and , I think 6. It will go on the inside of track, so trucks have to cross existing track. Lottsa dust (no grip) and cracked surface. It was not worth riding.

Courius what new layout will be like.

I loved the old section, well into 3 gear right, left and right. Full tilt, Without it North could be Mickey Mouse thing. We'll see.

it is cold. 50 deg that my 40 years old Honda generator refused to fire up on the first pull.

I'm actually ok other than above (getting XRayed tomorrow) and my upper body feels like had been run over by a tank or three.

Bloody hellblooks like Joe’s foot! Hope it is bruised only.

Went to see my doctor friend late am, he , of course, laughed. "You, and your race bikes"

He looked, probably nothing broken, but to just make sure booked X-ray for me tomorrow.

I have dog's body, any injuries, I recover extremely fast.

What happened? just being impatient and, ultimately, stupid.😀

Putnam is one of those tracks on a grassfield, no reference points whatsoever. Pretty flat as well. So, when you are leaned over it is very difficult to see where the track goes, next turn, etc. There is white and red curbing but only at apexes, you can't see it ahead anyway.

So, it was my first time there, very difficult to learn and memorize the track.

Turns 1,2 and 3 are especially confusing. They de facto can be taken as a one turn. If you've ridden the track many enough times.

Talked to couple guys who have ridden there many times, they all agreed with me, they just ride from memory.

Anyway, I run off once, kept upright on slippery grass, second time I dumped it. End of the story. Very little purely cosmetic damage to the bike, but I took pretty big tumble in the grass at around 70-80 mph.

Moral story? On track like Putnam, you gotta put enough laps before you can start pushing.

Nope, but probably happened when I flew over handle bars when front folded. My thumb was severely dislocated. Probobly got caught on handlebar. No dirt or grass on the gloves, so happened on departure.

Thumb looked extremely funny. I kinda was thinking what to do with that (refused ride to hospital), laid down my hand on the table, thumb went back in place pretty much on its own. And duck tape happened to be just there. Should have taken a picture. Next time.😆

RS Taichi gloves. Top quality

They look all good.

Dainese Kangaroo suit, and Sidi Vortice. Grass and dirt on the suit, but no tears from the impact. You get what you paid for. Cheap suits are one and done disposable affairs.

Anyhow, so summarize, most painful off on my riding "carriere", there was shitload of pain right after, yesterday AM was just horrible as well. Waaaaaay better today.

Talking bike to work. Winter skiing gloves, anything else won't fit. I do have cruise control, and linked brakes.

BTW, I'm anti-hypochondriac, and on the top of that I avoid any healthcare facilities like plague. Why? Well, half of my family is a doctor or dentist, etc. So, I know those people.

I would not put my health in their hands under any circumstances. 😉

Well, that's about it. Some minor fracture on thumb, like between the nail and first joint, also something minor at the wrist, but nothing serious.

4 weeks of the brace. Of course I'm gonna keep taking it off to ride my bike to work. 😁

Well, my doctor friend has sent X-rays to two of his buddies who deal with bones and sport injuries and newest version-no fractures.

The hand is, at this point, nuisance vs. various muscle pains on my back. Had to get neck collar, brace, whatever they call it. Foam.

Now, I'm getting this for next season. Fuck that shit, I mean pain. Wouldn't help with the thumb, but I would be pain free from upper body.

Probobly gonna have to loose 16-20 pounds over the winter so it can fit in comfortably under my leather. Because I'm not gonna spend 2000-2500 for new skins. That's what you gotta pay for something good.
