Any specific recommendation on a kickstand pad for the XX?

I hate how far it leans over, which also makes the hot pavement problem worse.  I'd prefer to add something to it permanently (obvious I have handheld puck things to put under it).  I had one on the KTM that was specific-fit and loved its simplicity.  The ones that claim to be for this bike seem generic Chinesium.

Okay, let's start at the beginning. The bike should not lean over more that any other bike.  Is the rear raised? Or are the sidestand bushings a little worn?

 

Next, unless you can find something specifically designed for an XX, I'd be cautious. XX's can drag the sidestand, and I big ole flat chunk of something fastened to the bottom of it could drag sooner and upset the handling, even unload the rear tire. 

 

Check why it leans so much, and use a puck. Or design a better for that won't drag, and make a bunch of them. 😁

It's the stock unicorn with (now) like 1200 miles on it.  It's *plausible* that the fork tubes could be too low in the tree, don't recall their normal height.  Visibly there's a mild suspicion about where they are.  While stock, at one time it did have all fluids changed including fork, by a Honda dealer.

Oh, and I had one on mine....but it was a beautifully machined piece of artwork and cost like $150 beans.

 

Can you print something on your flux capacitor machine that slips on....that won't slip off?  I'll try to find what I had.

I have a 20 ton HF press. You can send your stand to me and I’ll put a bend in it for you should make that bad boy stand at attention.

Me neither.  My 2000 leaned pretty far also, even before mods.  So I wonder if Joe's are different, or he doesn't care/notice (and really I shouldn't care, but I do).

 

Now I'm gonna need to put it next to the Zero and measure.

 

I should try to figure out if the forks are too low.  Wonder if that's in the manual.

I agree, she leans over too far. I have one of those puck things on mine, a thicker one than you show, but very similar. Also, I added a homemade washer to the kickstand pivot as there was too much play.  Made it from a used oven tray.  Perfect thickness, from memory 15thou thick.  12mm hole, 2" OD?  An actual piece of brass or bronze sheet would be better, but I'm cheap.  I also added a 15thou washer under the nut of the shoulder pivot bolt. This combo took up all the play. 

 

FYI:  there is a groove at the top of the forks where spring clip should live. This clip to be 1-2mm above the handlebars.

It's certainly also possible that the HyperPro springs bumped up the ride height.  I guess I should have measured first.  Now I just need to find another dead stock XX to measure...

Mine leans a lot, but the front and rear are raised. It's a stretch standing it up.

I guess since I'm a big spender, and part of the wealthy elite, I will try the $7 option and see how it is.  Joe, does that fork position look normal to you?  And do you have any stock XX at all to measure ride height as compared to my springs?

I took this to a different route.  I removed the stand and squeezed it in a vise until it was almost tight.  Slight improvement.

 

 

 

Also found this ridiculous filth.  So yeah, now I've even detailed the kickstand.  I put it back with a tiny dab of high-moly GN grease on the pin, and Dupont dry lube on the flat surfaces.  No more dirt piling up.

My XX is also raised in the rear so, it leans.
