SwampNut Posted August 7 Posted August 7 LOL, and then, will you tell your medical relatives that you're buying Chinese peps from some crazy Cuban online? Quote

SwampNut Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I was just recruited into a research study on making better injectors. They won't tell me who the company is (normal), but it's not name brand. Eli Lilly is really totally losing control of this, and soon it might be just objectively better to do third party all around. They want me to first show my current injection methods (both straight syringe and the pens I make up), then possibly sample their new injector. Edit to add: The recruiter broke character and told me her own experiences and failure with semaglutide. So I explained her options. This is totally unusual, and she shouldn't do this, but I will always help and educate. Another add: Of the dozens of people she's talked to, I'm the first doing it from Chinese powder and not compounded. Which is just Chinese powder that someone else mixes then ships to you, which creates more opportunity for problems. Quote
SwampNut Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Nurse is going to use raw, unfiltered GLP-1 that is untested. Asks for advice. Get snippety with me about it all, she's super smart, but also can't convert grams to mg. Quote

SwampNut Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Every place with anything mildly technical seems to have been overrun by fucking retards who are too lazy to read anything and too dumb to understand it if they did. I constantly see even dumber shit, but this one was special since it's a medical professional *AND* got fucking snarky with me about it, AND didn't know WTF to do. A trifecta. I'm thinking about leaving the Rivian forum because goddamn R2 buyers are retarded lazy fucks and ruining everything because they literally argue that ChatGPT's reading of the manual says something, and it's wrong. It all started when we let AOL connect to the internet, which really was a bad decision. Quote

I mean comparatively. my insurance finally approved it and it was sent to the pharmacy for filling and with insurance coverage it’s $1078 out of pocket So I tried the zepbound savings program and it’s still $975! i can’t afford that at all 🤮 Quote
SwampNut Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Phenomenal insurance, discount coupons, corp discounts. Most people are seeing $700-800 though, your number is unusual. Quote

Even more weird, wait until Thanksgiving or the Superbowl when you are littered with incredible food....and NON OF IT interests you. That's even stranger. Alcohol, no more for me. Just no desire. Sometimes I can go days without eating....because it simply doesn't rule my thoughts anymore. So I have not read this thread until tonight; interesting read, some great info and some very impressive results ! Having said that, isn't it not very healthy to not eat for days? Do you not end up feeling weak or low energy when you go days without eating? Those of you on these meds who are no longer losing weight but instead maintaining weight, do you all go days without eating? If you eat everyday do you have any idea/ballpark of how many calories you consume in a day? Quote

A lot of people say that fasting is a great health booster. I'm not sure that Dave is truly saying many days, but maybe? I took it as more like a day or so. Which is no big deal. 8 minutes ago, Nova Scotia Mike said: Those of you on these meds who are no longer losing weight but instead maintaining weight, do you all go days without eating? I have chosen to fast many times in my life without taking these, and have never done that while taking them. I'm not sure what you're thinking. It is absolutely not normal to not eat for "days" because of a GLP-1. Quote

It is absolutely not normal to not eat for "days" because of a GLP-1. Ahh, I was taking Dave more literally I guess, in that he does go multiple consecutive days without eating. I have talked to a few folks on these meds over the last couple years and in conversation more than one has mentioned that they have now have to "remember to eat" and I never thought much of it until seeing Dave's comment and it made me wonder if a lot of GLP-1 users actually do go days without eating. Seems like that is not the case, thanks for confirming! I have tried fasting a few times for a day max, just to see what the hub-bub about it is about. I found it strange physically and mentally; fasting is not for me! For over a year now I don't eat until 11am (or noon) and stop eating by 8pm (or earlier). Informal intermittent fasting. I'm no doctor and I don't play one on TV, but I'm thinking not eating for a couple of days might have some other risks/concerns that go along with it, in particular considering that with anyone with some cardiac history. Nah, no fasting for me at all. What I meant here was....because the medication turns off your food desire and hunger alerts....I sometimes don't eat for 1 day or even 2 without even recognizing it. You just don't "think" about food anymore. I literally put breakfast in the microwave at 6am....and at 6pm when I go to open the microwave to heat up something for dinner, breakfast is still sitting there....with no memory of forgetting it there. 1 Quote
DaveK Posted September 16 Posted September 16 And I go 10 days between shots. But again, this week when I took the shot on Saturday morning (should have done it on Wednesday) by Sunday I could 100% I was feeling a bit moody and depressed. Quote

Each dose peaks right about 36 hours into it, so this tracks. You might be a candidate for Retatrutide. It has far less hunger suppression, and less mental symptoms. Low risk and cost to try. Quote

Plus, there are a TON of other benefits other than simply weight loss. If I were to have to give you an answer, I'd say yes. I EASILY save the $450/month on food, restaurant, and alcohol bills. Not to mention the cost of the heart attack, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout, loss of sleep and misery. I’m 3 weeks off the zepbound and the hunger and cravings are full force ahead.
