Free! Toner Cartridges!
The Beakman replied to The Beakman's topic in The Sales Floor -- For Sale/Wanted
I've got one, guaranteed not to work plus it weighs a friggin' ton. If you're a masochist by all means pay for the shipping. PS: It doesn't like windows 7, which is why it got its ass beat. And a phantom paper jam. -
Free for the taking, or shipping. Okidata C3400/C3600 toner carts, full color set, remanufactured, and a new drum cart. PM me, available for shipping until may 18, then it'll be a couple of months till next window. Free! Yay!

Thanks GiveUp, But Sondance has it covered for now. He's farther away but I could use the adventure and get my street legs back just as well. -
Tampa Area Seat Swap
The Beakman replied to The Beakman's topic in The Sales Floor -- For Sale/Wanted
That sounds good, as come Monday I could be assigned to a remote site at any time. Let me know what day before wednesday and what time I should be where, and I can let you know on that morning if I can make it. My knees and ass thank you. However, contrary to popular rumor, I will not thank you with either. Thanks Beak Oh, BTW, trade, trade w/ money either direction, swap, whatever works for you. -
I have an all black Corbin Gunfighter, Leather, on my 2000 bird. The stock seat is in NY but the bike is in Tampa. I would like to ride around on the stock seat, so if anyone wants to swap for a season, or try & buy my seat in the Tampa area for same day deal let me know through a PM ASAP. The Corbin is the stock Corbin build, which is slightly lower than Honda stock. I'm 6' tall so it starts to hurt in the knees after awhile, and is deeper dished so I can't slide back as much as I'd like to. It might be good for a long hauler in the 5' + range. No flaws as far as I can tell. The seat pan does not have protrusions for the manual as the stock seat does. Thanks.

Get the name stamped on the case and post it. I see an inlet hose, diaphram case, tension control knob and outlet port, correct?

It's a Mexican Swine Flu Bomb! Call Homeland security! Yep, as Blackhawkxx says. See if there's a little arm or lever with a hole for a float that would actuate it.
-
Precicely! Well, er, except I do 1-3/8", but then again, I don't pull down, just let the natural sag be the start point.

They have a dyno. I have a power Commander on order. " Louis, this looks like the beginning of a beautiful freindship"

Oops, I meant center stand! side stand too -
The best stuff so far has been some dirt-bike spray I borrowed from a friend. I don't recall the name though. It was ugly but lasted a good long time. Otherwise, the standard Honda brand or the PJ!, applied regularly works for me.

Bird's In The Shop, Slip On Recommendations
The Beakman replied to The Beakman's topic in The Garage
A full system would not be out of the question IF, it would not interfere with the givi bags/mount rack, and the side stand, and not require a PC II right off the bat because of potentially damaging fueling issues. I am leaning towards Acropovac/Scorpion, but only from ignorance rather than knowledge, I hear they have a good reputation. thanks for the heads up on the Yosh. I've heard only good things about the Staintune's, but just fron the Beemer bunch personally. Not as sexy as the others, though. -
Whilst my bike is getting new locks all around and a few minor inconveniences taken care of, I figure now would be a good time to look into some performance mods. What would be a good (great!) slip-on muffler (S) for a 2000 still stock bird? One requirement would be that they not be excessively noisy and may sometime work well with a PC II maybe in the future. I can see it now: Beakman has his bike modded every time he's on the road working, untill sometime in 2011 he find some strange and mystical machine has been awaiting his return.

So far, EVERYONE that has heard this story has said pretty much the same thing. It looks like a classic case of "Shut up and listen!" for the Beakman. It looks as though I'll consider paying for this whole fiasco just to be able to tell this would be pilot he's permanantly grounded, no matter how much gear he just bought. Another of life's hard lessons learned the relatively easy way, when you consider the alternative. PS: this bike is cursed for anybody else except me (has new paint and plastic from another "caretaker"). Talk about being faithfull! PPS: . . . or like a spouse that gives a disease to every extramarital lover . . .

UPDATE on Stored 3 Years, Won't Start.......
The Beakman replied to Supermarine's topic in The Garage
And if it can't be fixed, bring it to NEXXT. I hear half the guys are gonna bring their funky pumps. -
Update: The bike's off to the honda dealer Monday or so. Specialist towing has been arrainged, so I hear. I told my friend I wanted only one key to work the ignition, tank and tail still. A fuckin' givi key! What next? "Which lever is the clutch?"

I'll give ya 50 bucks for the peice oh shit Givi with no key.. BYTM! huh? Incestuous board vernacular for "Better You Than Me"

A little Givi Lock History: I lost one set of givi and cable and disk lock keys by putting them in the scoop pockets of a new Firstgear jacket while riding. I didn't zip the pockets shut, and the ingenious design of them made them balloon out all the way while riding - goodby keys and anything else! Soon after, I ordered 3 Givi tumblers, all the same key as I had three different on the original set (the true price of a "deal") and six blanks. The new tumblers were slightly different from the originals and wouldnt fit the cases properly. No problem-O, I've got the blanks for the original tumblers! Took those to the local hardware store where they were absolutely and irrevocably cut badly, every one of them. You'd figure that when the first one wouldn't fit the grinder and cut wrong, one should stop right there, but Nooooo! Now this latest round had me give a friend detailed instructions where to find the keys, in the lock-box in my gun safe, but I guess he found my recently aquired supply of Organic Herbs and Spices I keep in there first. About those well intentioned recommendations for the Givi keys - I know when to quit when bad Ju-Ju keeps reminding me to, and believe me, the Givi key fiasco is bad Ju-Ju at its Ju-Ju-iest! I'll just get new keys when I get new luggage.
-
Ahhhh, the future looks brighter already. Good information. If it comes to ordering those break-away bolts, i'll pick up that chain adjuster bolt I had ordered last month too. Thanks for the advice. P.S.: ten dollars says that the Givi key will probably be for the one case that I only have one key for.

OK, someone was going to borrow my bike (2000 'Bird) while I was (am) away and now there is a Givi luggage key broken off in the ignition switch . I'm told it snapped of real easy and is at the very top but under the weather flapper. Naturally, the fork is in its locked position . I told the perp that will take care of this that I want the bike ready the day I get off the plane in Tampa, so the big question here is should he call a locksmith or aThe Honda Dealer. Or what tools and methods will I need in a couple of weeks?
