Biker bling are a UK company who provide blot sets in stainless steel. I bought the complete blackbird fairing kit from them and also a mixed bag of M5/M6 pan head bolts for my garage bolt stock. The bolts are well manufactured and have the same drilled design as the standard bolts from Honda. In fact, the only difference I can see is the material, the standard items being made of steel that is not stainless.

The guys who run it are very helpful, I first enquired after these in June and they had no stock, they were hoping for stock in August but it actually took until late september for the sets to arrive. I would happily use these guys again for bolts.

I ordered 6 custom straps, didn't even know it was a common thing or that it would be so cheap. 2"X11' in hi-vis green to match the Talon, $11.75ea. I didn't do a lot of comparison shopping, but that seemed pretty damn cheap for HD straps. They'll customize everything about them: end type, ratchet type, lengths at both ends, etc. On straps that have lettering you can even select to put it in or out. The lady said they'd probably be ready to ship in 1-2 days, they shipped the same day. She said that small orders like mine usually get put to the front of the line. You can do everything online except for selecting which side the lettering is on so I called the order in, it was fairly quick & easy. I also couldn't tell exactly what was different between some of the different ratchets. I wanted the smallest ones available in that weight rating, she made it easy. On her end it said the green had no lettering, but online it said it did; stenciling is what they call it. She said that she'd go to the floor and verify, and if it was stenciled she'd have them put it on the inside.

I was asked on my project Blackbird thread about the Abba Skylift as I had dug deep and shelled out the necessary to buy one. Please see the below:

It's very strong and well made, the lift itself is completely stable and so far I can't see any way to make it fall over, there are three lower legs on castors that spread the load with a 4th castor on the upright, 2 of the castors are braked. There is a little movement of the bike possible if you push on the bike when the brakes are applied to the stand, I'm not sure that's something that could be designed out without much more expensive materials and bigger box sections. The hydraulic ram is rated for 3 tons, the lift itself has a stated SWL of 400KG so well within limits, once you've lifted the bike into position there's a locking pin that is used to hold the bike at height and the ram is released. I can push the bike around the garage safely on the lift, the only downside I have seen is that I can't lift the bike if it's already up on the centre stand as the central leg of the lift needs to be where the centre stand is. No issue with it being on the side stand.

In my case this skylift has paid for itself just by allowing me to do this build myself, had I not bought the lift then I would have spent way more than that on getting the work done at a garage. If I'd had the space I could have bought a table instead that would likely have been cheaper, but then I'd still have needed to do a whole load of additional work to allow me to secure the bike in a safe manner to remove the front wheel and forks. I've had the bike in the level position on the skylift and have plenty of room to completely strip the front end. If I needed more room around the front, I could put the bike in the wheelie position so the whole front is in the air. There is also the option of the stoppie position if you need additional access to the rear.

My biggest concern was whether there would be enough access to the left hand side of the bike while it was on the stand, I needn't have worried. There is plenty of room to get to everything on the left whilst the bike is on the stand. With all the additional bits I bought I spent £580 on the skylift, it's money well spent, I can also remove the swingarm if needed as I bought the footpeg kit to allow it. I'm seriously considering buying the technician kit that contains all of the additional fixings for other bikes so that if I change in the future I have the gear ready, it's £148, but once again, money well spent to futureproof I feel.

Finally, their customer service is excellent, I'm really happy with everything, especially the 3 year warranty they give (the ram is not included as they buy those in so it only gets 12 months), to me that shows a real commitment to the quality of their own products. I actually met a few of the guys many years ago at the bike show, it was the launch of the skylift and at the time they didn't have a fitting kit for my bike, even then though, they were really helpful even though they knew I wouldn't be buying at that point.

I recently purchased a set of full caliper service kits with stainless steel pistins from these guys. The quality of the parts is excellent, the people are very helpful.

	Brakemasters

Note: I did have an issue with my kit, one of the seals was the wrong size and the piston simply slipped out of the bore when it was fitted, once I had sent them the information and a video of the issue I was having they immediately dispatched a replacement seal and got it to me the following working day. If you live on the Isle of Man like I do and the item is posted from the UK that's some achievement. They also have now quarantined all of their Blackbird seal kits and are checking them for correct sized seals as a result of this.

From a technical perspective, these are squared seals so can be fitted either way up unlike the usual tapered seals you get for calipers, they also look too big to fit prior to fitting, approx 1/2 a millimeter bigger inside diameter before fitting than the outside diameter of the piston. Once fitted the seals are slightly proud of the inner bore making for a good snug fit.

This uniqueness did cause a small issue when I reported the seal was incorrect as it turns out that a lot of people who buy the kits don't read the instructions and call them before attempting to fit the seal saying the seals are too large, hence why I sent a video of the problem to them so they could see the piston fall from the bore with the seal fitted.

I have been looking for this product for years. Glass cleaner in a spill-proof container that is travel sized. I had to buy a case off Amazon, but it is pretty cheap per can, and once you stuff one in each vehicle, give a few away, stash a few for later, and huff the gas out of a couple they go quick.

These are really nice very heavy duty tie straps with retaining clips on the hooks. They also have a soft tie loop on one end which makes it super easy to strap down a lot of bikes. Bikes with fairing like the XX are always a challenge.

I really like the extra peace of mind from the retaining clips so you know hitting a good bounce isnt going to let your bike come unhooked. Unlikely but we get paranoid with our bikes.

On my last trip I had the Speed Triple in the bed of the truck and was in a hurry to get on the road so I placed a propane cylinder too close to one of the straps. Over the course of the roughly 9hr drive the top of the tank sawed about 3/4 of the way thru the strap. I noticed it when I got there and was unloading because the sliver of strap that was left held. Color me impressed.

I figured I'd email them and see if I could buy just the strap/hook half since the cam buckle end was still perfect. I told them exactly what happened and even sent them a pic of it sitting there by the LP cyl. They responded to my email in about 3 mins and asked for a shipping address. They said stuff happens and shipped me an entire new strap 2 day shipping on their dime.

Very impressive. They have a lifetime guarantee but I didn't figure it applied to me being a dumb ass.

My hips were starting to hurt more and more until it was getting hard to sleep no matter how I positioned myself and when I sat for too long, it was hard to straighten up. The wife and I were shopping and stopped to look at the joint supplements and I didn't want to buy any until I researched them. My wife picked one anyway and bought it. It was the generic brand of Move Free called Joint Health sold at Wal Mart. It has in it UC-II which is cartilage and potassium chloride (providing undenatured type II collagen), Boron and Hyaluronic Acid. 1 pill per day at about $13 per 30. I found the Move Free name brand on E-Bay cheap so I going to try that next and it has the same stuff in it.

After about 3 days, I was amazed, no hip pain when sleeping and no back pain when sitting too long. I would have never believed it but it is a blessing because when you can't sleep, everything is affected. I don't know why it works or for how long, maybe I was lacking something but for now, it is great.

Having lost weight and pretty much stabilized at how "big" I expect to get going forward, I wanted a better grade of cow protecting my bony ass should something happen.

Only two real contenders for custom-fit (after finding OTR suits that had what I wanted were too tight in the arms to be usable). Syed (Florida) and Z Custom (California).

I went with a plain two-piece from Syed. A couple of extras (mostly no perforation and back armor added). Their cost was about what I was used to paying for a suit from Z Custom. This time, the same from Z Custom would have cost hundreds more. I guess the high cost of being in California is largely to blame for this. This was a downer as the cost difference for a "basic" suit is why the job went to Syed.

PROS ... The Syed suit generally appears to be well-made, and it even came with a speed hump (which I could have opted NOT to have but was included for the price). Fit appears to be good. First ride was a bit tight in the seat and legs, but I'm sure it will break in with more wears. I'll count this as a "PRO" but I have mixed feelings on it...the elbow armor is inserted on the OUTSIDE of the suit with an access sealed with Velcro. I'm still trying to get used to it because whenever I see the access seam, I think the pocket is open when it's not. Does make it easier to change out the armor (or just remove it) compared to something sewn into the leather itself.

CONS ... The suit is HEAVY. I'm not sure why this bothered me as this suit seems just as heavy as I remember my prior Z Custom suits being. My cheap Bilt one-piece is nowhere near the weight...which might be why this threw me. Heavy normally does = good crash protection, so how you see it depends on how you feel.

DEALER ... They certainly were friendly and helpful over e-mail, but be warned if you talk to them by phone. The guy I got had a heavy Hispanic accent, and it was difficult to tell if he understood what I was saying. I took extra care to make sure there were no misunderstandings in what we were saying to each other. I found their measurement chart to be a tad more excessive than Z Custom requires. While I believe there were no errors, even with a "snug" fitting, the jacket has a bit more width than is necessary (makes my shoulders look broader than they are). This could have simply been from adding material to accommodate the back protector (extra). In the end, it's a blessing because the bit of extra room leaves an option to layer clothing underneath or even a heated vest. Another customization I asked for was an "extra long zipper." Last time I had a custom suit made, I asked for the zipper to go as far down as was practical to make it easier to get on/off when using the bathroom (yes, just one inch makes that much of a difference). This was probably a first for them, and what I got...well, the zipper goes ALL THE WAY down. I should have just asked for it to go one inch longer. On the upside, I can don and remove this two-piece suit as if it was a one-piece (which saves me the struggle with the waistband zipper). On the downside, it's the likely cause of why it's a bit too snug in the legs and seat (when seated on the bike) fresh out of the box.

For Z Custom, I went with a one-piece suit. Pretty much the same extras were ordered.

PROS ... The suit looked good overall (as I expected), and it fit like a glove.

CONS ... Other than the significantly higher cost, I saw no clear defect in construction or fit. My only other issue was the WEIGHT of the suit. It was 18 pounds to ship. When I picked it up, I couldn't believe a whole suit was in the small box they used. Maybe it's just my perception, but I'm suspecting there's some "cost shaving" going on, and given the higher price, I expect the grade of material should equal or exceed their competition's. I'll update this when I get the suit back and can wear it a couple of times to get a better feel for things.

DEALER ... I'm questioning what's going on with the vendor. A HUGE oversight is that they put the wrong type of collar on the suit. While I expect them to refund the return shipping, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. They also shipped to my PO Box (billing address) rather than the address I told them to. This tells me someone wasn't looking at the actual order form and whoever did the final QA check before shipping didn't do their job very well. Yes, the suit design came with a collar, but the order specified a different collar. For the cost of the product, mistakes like this don't inspire confidence. Also regarding cost, in the past if you wanted a "custom colored" suit design, and if your color stayed within the whole panel (no special cutting or sewing required), the charge for different colors were minimal to none at all. All they had to do was cut that particular piece from a different bolt of material. I opted for a simple one-color detail as shown in the suit pattern, and the increase in cost for that one alteration was significant. As any pattern they sell would be invisible if done in only one color, you'd think the base price for a suit would reflect the work of custom coloring WITHIN their pre-designed pattern.

Just a quick note about John. Total stand up guy that goes out of his way to help fellow XX'rs! Best customer service anywhere! John emailed order status throughout the process and though I didn't want to use paypal he facilitated a small order like it was a $1000 transaction. Way to go!

Revzilla is a great place to buy from with great service but (a heads up) if you live in PA or Nevada, you will have to pay sales tax now. Before, they paid it for you. So instead of ordering tires from them today, I went with Jake Wilson same price, no tax.
