TJ, or anyone else...any link with epilepsy control and sugars? Since the brain and sugar are so intricately linked...?

There is some epilepsy stuff on the archive of the low-carb/
high-fat news group I used to run. Here's the link:

http://www.cythrawl.org/ketosis/index.shtml

Pick "treating disease"
then "epilepsy"

The basic jist is this: Seizures can be completely controlled
by a high-fat ketogenic diet -- even in cases of grand mal
seizures that are drug resistant.

This is because ketogenesis induces a switch in brain
metabolism. It is my belief that ketones are the primary
fuel for the brain, and not glucose.

It just makes more sense to me given the paleo-human diet.
Plus, consider the negatives of glucose brain metabolism:
less mental focus, up and down mood swings, uncontrollable
cravings, the initial hangover, etc. etc. etc.
