Full Version: carb jet & needle settings for bored 1200 B.bird

A friend of mine has a bored out B.bird to 1200cc, with a gas flowed head, performance cams, lightened crank, race exhaust - basically full race etc...... and is hoping for 175Bhp at th rear wheel......He wants to know what sort of jet sizes and needle positions he will need for the carbs - can any of you guys give some usefull advice?......will be much appreciated!........I'm sure this has been done many times before

Did you ever speak to Pete at Blackbird Spares? he's got a 1200 'bird and should be able to tell you. Think his puts out 176hp at the rear wheel. Email would be best as he's at the Alexandria Palace show each day this week, his bike is on the Avon stand :cool:

yup - had already sent pete a note before I had posted this note.....now I know why he aint yet replied!.....will wait when he comes back

Pete's bike is FI, so he might not be able to help much..........

oops :oops: I always thought it was carbed, should have checked the spec better and noticed the fitted Power Commander :roll:


And to try to make up for up for it, here's Pete's bike on the Avon stand at the bike show this week
