Well, I sold my Tiger 1050 last week, great bike but I wanted something different, and yesterday bought an 03 XX. Got it home, changed oil and cleaned it up, and rode about 100 miles today. Wonderful bike, it will work well for my sport-touring needs with a few adjustments.

So to start with -

Peg lowerers - I emailed Dave who made some a few years back, but what is the best option, something like his or the Buell option?

Bar Risers - I thought I would start with the VFR mod since that doesn't require line changes and might work for my 6'4" long torso build.
What years bars do I need and where's the best place to find them, Ebay I would assume or any VFR forums?

After that will be saddlebags, etc. More later.

First post probably of many and I'm sure with enough searching these have been discussed before, but after 3 hours of mixed results, thought I would just ask.

Welcome. Glad to see a new Bird owner as some around here jumped to ugly bikes.

I've had the lowering blocks since Dave's 1st run of them and absolutely love them I had to ride the bike for a while without them after a crash last year and couldn't wait to get them again BTW Hobicus from here is selling the blocks now via his business Cycle Farkles LLC




Yeah I would try the VFR forums, they occasionally come up on eBay but are quite sort after and go for near new $$

Good call. Joined and posted a wtb on both VFR forums and got several responses. My '02 bars showed up yesterday.
