My buddy has an 1100xx and is in need of some tires. I have a set of Michelins Pilot Sports 120/70/17 front / 190/50/17 rear with 600 miles on them. I was wondering if they would fit the xx? I know that the xx has a small rear rim them my 954, but will the 190/50/17 fit on the 5.5 rim? My buddy uses his xx mostly as a commuter vehicle, so it's mostly superslab riding.

Yes, a 190 will fit on the rim, but because the tire is designed for a 6 in. rim, the tread profile will not be quite as the manufacture designed. It will not handle as well as it does with the proper tire.
However, for commuting, it should be OK.
