Full Version: Heated grip installation ?

I'm going to install heated grips on my 02 bird. Dual Star type heating elements that go under the grips. I'm gonna wire them for the basic Hi/lo settings with no troller controller. I wanted to purchase a turnsignal switch and wire it up to, push Left for Hi, Right for Low and push in for Off. I would put it in the blank spot on the right handle bar switch housing above the starter switch. I called Honda parts and they said I had to buy the whole left hand housing if I wanted a turn signal switch. About $70.00 Any ideas where I might score a turn signal switch. The objective is to make the install look as nice as possible. The grips came with an ugly 3 way toggle switch. I've tried Radio Shack and a few auto parts stores, thought I would ask here before I start to dig through the Newark varity electronics catalogs.
Anyone have a wrecked left hand housing (with a good switch) they would like to contribute to the project

Thanks for your time.

I went through the same ordeal..........
In Europe, the right swich housing has an additional lights switch "off-parking-driving". Maybe you could get a used one from there....
I went to a marine store and bought some waterproof switches there.
I think I just saw some waterproof rocker switches on this forum, but can't remember where. Sorry...

I found the "switch" web site  that I didn't remember earlier !!!
