OK....I am going to take a stab at value.

In my opinion there is 3 values to this bike.

Your desire, in person value, and Ebay type value.

Ebay....prolly high 4's mid 5's.

In Person.....mid 7's.

Personal value sounds like 8 or 9.

What I mean by in person....if I saw it in person at a bike night type event, we spoke for a while about it, saw your love and affection for it, the super high end parts and pieces you have on it gone over and described in detail....I think it carries more value.

Could you get more if it were in pieces? I know those parts are fucking expensive.

Is it flat black still? If it were some ridiculously hot and shiny color, personally, I think you would get more than the paint job would cost....simply due to the convenience of it being done.

Maybe use a marketing idea of "if you buy the bike at this price....you can choose the color of your choice" and you pay for the work. Candy Glory Red (2001 XX) would look fucking sick.

OR....paint a picture of The Rock on it and call it the punisher and I am SURE someone will pay 10+ for it.

Good luck with the sale....
cbrxxquad

One of the few bikes that I have lusted after. Among other things. No one any place else will understand the love in that piece.

Please price it out of my range..

See, Stan just proved my point. It's worth much more to any of us because we know. Ebay, Craigslist.....might be a waste and actually disappoint you.
Redbird
Hate to say it, bud, but you might be better off parting it out. Pretty sure the bolt on front conversion and tail conversion would sell quick now that you did all the work. Wheels, rotors, shock...then all the OEM stuff like bodywork, frame motor, it'll add up quick. I couldn't do it if it were my bike and more importantly my work, but it makes sense financially. Honestly, you need to keep it, you'll never get what it's worth.

If you're going to sell it whole, I'd say you need a proper paint job to get closer to what it's worth.
TOXXIC
I completely agree, parting it makes the most monetary sense. Maybe I should have Hobi ride it to Seattle. icon_biggrin.gif Then, I can pimp his ass out on the curb to pay for his one-way ticket home.

Let me know when you want me to deliver it.

Jeff,
That is definitely a work of art. It would be a shame to part it out.
Whatever you get for it, it won't be enough.
I hope someone who truly appreciate's it ends up with it.

I know it was a tough decision to sell something you've put so much time and effort into. I know I had to think long and hard about selling my XX and yours is a lot more customized. Good luck with the sale.

What are you replacing it with?

I don't know if I am selling yet or if I do, if I'll replace it at all.

I think I may take advantage of this crap real estate market and get a few extra bedrooms, a bigger garage, and a better school district.

Who knows?
OMG
There are some things that just can't be replaced, this is one. When you are old, you will wish you still had it. And how much does it cost to keep?
Think about it, someday one of your great grand children will find it in the back corner of the garage covered up and will be stunned! Being the genius child that they are, they will secretly formulate fuel and whatever is needed to make the thing run again. They will then secretly roll the bike out and learn to handle it and one fine day will scream it down the highway. Once again there will be someone on the planet that will feel the freedom of riding! Then the police will catch them and subject them to the mandatory thought management training.
Oh well, good luck, I'd love to buy it just to have another one.

I agree with this...but when it comes to having a bigger house to better suit your family....not so sure an RV can be considered a keeper. I would also bet....he doesn't ride it as much as it being a labor of love.

Here I got a Better Idea for you....

Sell your Sperm... it's obvious that shit works, since you're not going to OzarXX again for the Same reason as before.

....

Yes I'm still Mad.

...

It's a mental thing.... I'm starting to Go Insane over this....

..

Part of me wants to say "I understand, and can see your Point", but... the other part of me that LOVES your BIKE so much... is over-riding my Sanity.

.

I'ld say it's worth.... $ 9 - 10K. if not more. No Joke.

You have to look at it as a "Custom Bike", not as just a modified bike.... there is a difference, and that difference is what makes Your bike worth so much more.

Put the kids in bunk beds, trust me, they will be leaving before you know it. It really doesn't matter how big the house is or where you live. School yes. The most important thing is for them to learn independence and to know that they are loved. Then let them go and have a nice ride.

I pretty much agree with everyone else that believes it's worth more to those that know about it.

Do you have other pictures of it? I'm not as regular as some people around here and I must have missed the write up on this thing. I'd be interested in hearing more about the process. Was this something you planned and thought out? If so, you're much more creative than me!

Good luck with the sale.

Byrd, I don't know you or your bike like most of these guys seem to, but I have to say I am THOROUGHLY impressed. That is a keeper if I have ever ran across one. Very nicely put together and thought out!!! Nice job!!

Sure you wanna let it go?????? Search all options before selling!!!

I actually know someone who took that stuff. He said it works as advertised.

Oh, and keep the bike Jeff... but sometimes you gotta do what you feel is right.
EVLXX
OK....

I'm calm now.... and my sanity has returned, so I have a question for you.

How many times did you ride it last summer ?

You still have the ST I take it, and if yes, which do you ride more ?

And taking into acount some of us, just simply enjoy building stuff, just because we want to.

Then Life throws you a curve ball, and maybe even a curve ball you wanted in one way or another, and you have to make a decission.

.....

Years ago, in 98 to be exact, I sold my beloved bike (at the time), in order to make some quick cash for a Down Payment on the house we now live in.

In hind sight, I have no regrets.....

I have a beautiful Family, and live in a good neighborhood. In retrospect, selling that bike is what lead me to one day Buying the Bird and meeting all of you.....

How's that for a Silver Lining.

..

And well... if you ever feel the need to Ride a Bird again, I know a guy that would probably let you ride his.... icon_biggrin.gif

I'm suprised nobody's said it yet, so:

I'll start the bidding at $5!

Honestly, keep it... unless you can hit the local bike nights this spring and get some... well... "person" to pay you something crazy for it... I hear there is a mexican roofer in Chicago that likes that kind of bikes...

Put it on ebay with a ridiculous reserve and see what happens.

Mileage? Engine mods/maintenance? A buyer's gonna need to know.

You obviously won't get back what you put into it. My XX is almost exactly the way I like it (will do some suspension mods in the future, but it rides fine for now). But I'm changing my Kawi Z750S to fit me better, and those changes are expensive. I sure hope I don't regret it later (I probably won't, but the process is painful).

I think I have around 13,000 miles. The bike is perfect and there are no mods to the engine except for a PCII.

The bike's still in the garage begging to be ridden.

Still unsure if I'm going to sell her. I have an emotional tie to it that will be hard to break.
Pat830
It's worth $100

I'll give you $200

And you'll have the satisfaction of knowing it is going to a good home.

Seriously, it is a work of art and would have to have an educated buyer to appreciate it, it would be hard to put an exact value on it.

bring it to ozarxx, I will ride it. icon_biggrin.gif
