I put in a HID last month and have been trying to start by holding the starter, the turning the key.

A number of times during the Shady Valley trip my bike would start, but the speedo display was blank. The odo was advancing so I assume the VSS was reading. All I had to do was shut down and restart to get the display back.

I plan to check for loose connections, and the charging system. I have even wondered if this could happen by interupting the power up of the display?

So.... has anyone ever seen the speedo display come and go?
