Basic 5 X 8 Full bath with a shower. Previous owner decided to remodel the shower and made it about 6 inches wider which placed the step-out right up against the toilet ?? Also there was no shower pan used so there is alot of water damage. Fortunately two of the three shower stall walls are exterior concrete block walls and the house is on a concrete slab so only one wall was shared with a walk in closet that has to be replaced also. The two walls pictured that are not torn out are the exterior walls.
I am leaving for NeXXt tomorrow morning so got done today what I could.
I have not even closed on this house yet but will close the day I return from NeXXt !!
Already have the Utilities in my name and anxious to get it done so I can start moving in next month.
Will use the second bath until this one is done.

Also having trouble getting the toilet un-stuck from the floor so I can reuse it. Seems like it was grouted in place.
Any suggestions for safe removal ?

I share your pain! The renovations seem never-ending at our beach house. We renovated our bathroom a couple of years ago and put in one of those all-glass units held together with the silicone-based adhesive used for fish tanks. The base is tiled, the same as the rest of the bathroom, with a slight fall towards the drain. Works really well.

As a matter if interest, I've just taken a break from from painting the master bedroom - it never stops! Lovely day outside too, I should be riding but need to keep my better half happy too!

Anxiously waiting on a very nice income tax refund to be deposited in my bank account. Since I bought a Foreclosure as a first time home buyer in 2008 I qualified for a $7500.00 tax credit !!

Finally going to be able to finish my Bathroom and master bedroom remodel. Should have the needed money in less than 2 weeks now.

I did get the walls sheetrocked. Now to finish mudding it all in and prep for the new tile.

Going to tile floor to ceiling in the wet area and tile up 42" the rest of the way around the bathroom.
Adam, beondwacko, came over and installed a new shower light for me, thanks Adam.

Putting down tile in the Bathroom, short hallway and 5' x 6' walkin closet as well as the floor of the linen closet. Then new carpet to go done in the Master bedroom. Picture to follow as I complete the tile work.

It might not matter, but you installed the backer board 90 degrees off. The taped, recessed edges of the sheets should butt against each other to make a horizontal joint. The recessed edges are to accommodate the mesh tape and mortar. Otherwise there will be a bulge when you tape/mortar the joints. And if you install the backer board horizontally you would have had much few joints.

I am learning as I go and have never done this before.
The durarock that is in the wet area was given to me free and was not a full size board
so had to have more seams than normal.
I am tiling floor to ceiling in the wet area and 42" up the rest of the way around the bathroom.

The tax credit has to be paid back over 5 years, so not actually free money just a free loan that enables me to do a couple home improvements that I need done now

I hope you put some 4-6mil plastic behind it as a vapor barrier in the shower.

Got the walls tiled and the shower floor almost ready for tile. Curb ready and the new Hurricane Impact glass window installed.
Vanity light and medicine cabinet done.
Will be starting on the diagonal 6" shower floor tile next and then the 18 x 18 floor tile to finish

All of the fixtures, faucets etc are done in nickle finish instead of chrome.
I left the chrome for the hardleys !

Yes the light above the vanity is florescent. Small twin 22" tubes.
I picked it up on sale at Home Depot a few months back when this project first started
