Hi, just wondering if anyone has installed a rad fan thermo switch that activates at a lower temperature. My '99 FI model runs at the very top end of normal temperature range in the city.

I've not heard of using another thermo switch, but it is normal for the XX to run hot. Just do a search there are tons of threads on the subject.

Just a quick idea,,,,,, make sure that the cooling system has been burped(purged of air) as well. If you should happen to notice fairly quick temp' changes in either direction durring normal riding, there may be some air in there somewhere.

How about adding a manual switch to turn on the fan when entering the city?

thanks for the feedback, I have thought about the manual switch and might try it. The engine runs fine it just throws alot of heat in stop and go traffic. On the highway no problem.
