I just recently bought a sprocket from Ebay for $20.It was good in all but I ran into a problem.The previous owner failed to tell me he changed the stock sprocket in the rear to a 43 instead of the stock 45t in the rear. Well I bought a stock 45t rear sprocket and now the chain is so tight the wheel is all the way forward still the chain is too tight.I decided to drive it carefully home,park it and wait for the new chrome chain I ordered to be here shortly.Now I bought the chain cut already to 110. I also bought a front sprocket in case he changed that too,its a 17. Will this 110 #530 chain I bought be too tight too? Will it fit? What is the bone stock front,rear and chain length on a stock CBR1100XX?

It sounds like the previous owner put a shorter chain on to compensate for the 43T rear
sprocket; that could explain the chain being tight with the 45T rear sprocket. Stock set
up is 17T/45T/110 Link chain on all year 'birds, IIRC; that was the stock set up on my '03.

You are correct the stock setup is

Chain: 530 - 110 link
Front Sprocket: 17T
Rear Sprocket: 45T

Funny that the chain you ordered is already cut to 110 links. The DID chains I've bought come as 120 links, which I have to cut down. That's probably just DID chains.

Stock chain is 110 links. Stock front is 17, rear is 45. (in North America, anyway)

A chain in good condition of 110 links will fit a 16/45, 17/45, or 18/45 combination.

I bought a DID 530 ZVM2 110 link chain last year from White Buffalo Racing. It has nickel outer and inner plates which could easily be mistaken for chrome plating.

are you sure stock rear sprocket for the carb models isnt a 44 not 45?

mmm I guess I answered my own question but I find that weird because when I ordered my dymag wheels it came with 45T and I was told stock was 44 so I went one up... oh well.....

Like Joe eluded to, I think the 44T is a stock rear sprocket outside of North America.

Last week I ordered a stock rear sprocket from a Honda dealer. They sent me a 44T.

Ok ok in NORTH AMERICA is the stock sprocket setup 17T/45T?

It was a JT Sprocket (steel). I forget the exact verbiage between me and the parts guy. I said something about wanting to stay with the stock gearing in the rear, but adding a tooth up front (to 18T). He suggested saving a few dollars by going with the JT Steel Sprockets. I probably should have explicitly stated I wanted a 45T sprocket. I haven't heard anything bad about the JT Sprockets, other than the front won't have the cush drive like the OEM one.

To their credit, University Motors is sending me a 45T rear sprocket and won't charge me for it. Unless I don't return the 44T one within 30 days.

Did the same thing ordered from the dealer asked for the stock steel replacement and they gave me 44. But I did not catch it until it was too late.
