What is the rear axle NUT size?

Tired of borrowing my neighbor's big-ass socket whenever I needed to pull the rear wheel or adjust chain tension, I decided to go by Sears last night to pick one up. My factory manual says the rear axle thread size is 18mm but I could have sworn the socket was alot larger than 18mm.

I know it's a dumb-ass question, but I'd appreciate a clarification.

Thanks

Thanks, Mack. thumb.gif

The 27mm was in the back of my
head but I wasn't completely sure.
Thanks again, mate. Cheers.
