Full Version: handlebars adjusting on their own

so i'm thinking thru dropping the front end, just a little bit, as well as cutting down my front shims from my suspension upgrade and as i'm looking at the handlebars, i realize wtf, the right bar is higher than the left???

it seems the left bar had risen off the top triple clamps 1/8", halfway to the wire retaining ring - rather than sitting flush on top of the triple tree as I had remounted them after a steering head adjustment.

and the right handlebar had not. like i death grip the left more than the right?

WTF  - inspect your bike every now and then.... i found 2 things today (clutch bolt and handlebars).... it couldn't hurt, but might if you don't.

Improper torque? Did you check to make sure the fork tubes themselves are even in height?

checked the fork tubes, all okay.

the Hbar was def what moved, it showed a gap between the bottom and the trip tree where the right didn't.

strangely enough, because i'm an overtighten to be safe fanatic, i don't think it was too little tightening, who knows

150 miles today and it didn't move... we'll see in another 10k i spose ;o)
