Hey all, some smart folks here when it comes to mechanical stuff... and questions here tend to get honest answers instead of ragging like alot of other forums. So heres my question...

I am in the process of converting an old CX-500 I have to an adventure rig with a DNEPR side-car, I want to replace the tires with enduro style tires, but I cannot figure out the correct sizes to go with on the rims. The bike has on the rear a 16 X 2.5, which I presume is inches, I'd like to get a narrow enduro tire on there, what size should I get .... I was looking at a Kenda enduro tire that was 90/100-16, would this work?

On the front the bike has a 19 X 2.15 rim, I was considering a 100/90-19 or 110/80-19, which would be a better match if at all possible?

Thanks in advance :)

Everything you've stated will work, however you could probably go with a slightly wider tire on your rear. I think a 100/90 on the front would be good.

Thanks, yeah I could go wider on the rear, problem is, not alot of options for 16 inch rims with enduro tires, plus the narrower tire in the back will allow more clearance for the snow chains ... my main concern is that the tire would be ok with the bead, and I wouldn't have to force it out with pressure and hope it holds :)

Thought you were going with auto tires for your hack? Why the change of heart?

I'm planning on using this on some crappy surfaces .. so traction is a must .. also, endura tires are narrower, so it will give me more clearance to mount the snow chains I am working on... also, finding a car tire to fit that rim ain't happening
