I have seen the HID kits.

I hear people mention high and low beam

So what the hell do I need to buy?

What bulbs? Do all bulbs fit?

I keep scaring myself out here riding in the dark - water buffalos are hard to see at night.

H7s, top and bottom, or left and right if it's on it's side :P

HID isn't a must until you have ridden with it. Then you HAVE to have it. Cars see me, I see everything, plain and simple.

Ride a bike with it and you will hate your stock bulbs.

Oh, and you will want the units with the longer leads... That gives you more mounting options.
