others will know better than i- just changed reg/rec with a suzuki model, and wondered if i need to insulate the plastic with heat tape?

the unit is just under the plastic (remounted in same holes on sub frame) and may be touching ever so slightly, but may not- its that close. will the reg/rec unit get hot enough to melt the plastic if it is touching?

Your the first one I've heard of using a Suzi model. Yes it will get hot, but probably not enough to melt plastic if its hooked up right. Ride it for a while and then check the heat by hand.

found one off of an srad that had one 5 wire harness leading from it. nice heavy duty unit.
