Time once again to prove my ignorance.

What is the thicker oil and better suited to hot weather riding?

10W-30 or 5w-40

I'v been using Shell RotellaT 5W-40 and just put in the new Mobil 1 10W-30 and started second guessing myself with a 3500 mile ride coming up.

I just did the complete Hookers trip on Amsoil 0W40, and have never had slicker shifting 8)

Stick with the 5-40, IMO, if those are your only two choices.

Would that be full synth, semi synth, or standard grade?

I'm currently running 10w-30 mobile 1 synth and shifting sucks. :x

Amsoil fully synthetic 4 stroke oil. I think it's marketed for ATV's & 4 stroke dirt bikes.

I'll check wally world for some.

Just a side note: I've flogged many of my vehicles and have yet to see the oil drain as gold as the XX.

Just a note to all you 10-30 users, It's not called for in the manual unless the temp stays between 10 and 90 deg. F.

It gets warmer then that even here in PA.
