Full Version: castrol motorcycle oil

went to wally world yesterday and they had a bunch of shit for bikes, there is this oil from castrol called GRADE 70. never heard of it. would it be good for our bikes? Just curious. it's @ 2.50 a quart.

I don't think so...way too thick. If it's labeled the same as my old Sportster oil (Grade 60) then it's more for air cooled V-twins.

Castrol Syntec 10w-40 (automotive) is what I'm currently running. I am pleased with the results so far.

Man, that brings back memories... Don't even consider using it in your 'Bird - it's for older air/oil cooled V-Twins with cast iron cylinders... think flatheads through shovelheads & ironhead sportsters... This is the stuff we'd use in the hottest part of the summer.. or for a daylight desert crossing... :wink:

The London courier guy with the 400,000 mile XX might be able to use the grade 70 oil.
