Need help with the install!!!
1. does the shock cord just slip under the tank do you undo inner panels
2. Metal tab - does it get bent or something
3. any pictures where the sock cord comes out.
I don't know why but the easy ones are hard. I can rebuild my BMW but my daughters bug gives me trouble thanks

Metal tabs get bent into a U shape. Cord stretches around the front of the tank with the cords following the underside of the covers till they come out. Not as nice an install as I would have liked. Good luck!

i had one , returned it.. too much of a pain , it was more straight forward
to install gold valves, then install the stupid thing .

fyi, after installing my mag knight in place of my lp 1/2 bra, i've noticed a substantial reduction in heat around the tank area while riding.

seems maybe the lp was like a jacket, helping heat the area, including my knees and now it breathes better?

i've got a 2002.

p.s. unbolt slightly, and lift the tank if you want to bury all your mounting points and have a really clean install of your tank bra.

p.s.s. remove and clean every now and then as it catches dust for you also

I've got the targa bra and it's SUPER easy to install and
fits nicely.. (looks great too!)

Thanks. I'll try one more fitment and if it still looks shitty I'll return it and get the Targa cover.

Installed right, the LP looks pretty sweet, IMO. Trick is bending those metal tabs in the right place to hold it nice and tight. Keep at it, I'm sure you'll like the results-

joe
Redbird,

What did you do to your pipes?

i just pulled my bra off and put on one of those pro-grip stick on thingies. i like the shiney paint look better than the bra look.

Sent 'em to Jet-Hot for ceramic coating. I got a bug up my ass and decided to black everything out (it's winter thing, some of you understand). They (Jet-Hot) seemed to be the best option. 14k and a year and a half later, they're holding up great. Cost around $140, with a good chunk of that being shipping.

And Darryl, who asked you, anyway? :poke:
