Weeeeell! Last week i mounted the HyperPro Racing Springs Combo (3 in 1 package). On Saturday i did a trackday, and i also have been testing pointing at any hole or irregularity i saw at the road :-)

I had hardened stock suspensions before (oil, precharge etc, you know)

I must say this is a big improvement! The bike mantains the same or better stability/stifness it had in hard turning, chicanes... but of course it is much better when you come across those nasty bobbles on highway bridges, etc, etc...

Theses springs are progessive (20% medium, 80% stiff), heavy duty, they look better and weight more then stock springs.

I used Hyperpro 2.5 oil (included) , standard precharg in front, and 1,5 cm precharge rear, standard compression.

I think it's an intresting option if you want to improve handling, highspeed cornering, 'enduro-ing' (lol), and prevent fairing/exhaust scratching...

The kit costs 215 euros + tax/shipping, and mounting everything is about 80 euros (2-3 hours) more, depending of your shop.

I wonder if Hyper-Pro makes a rear spring that would work for those of us who use a CBR 900RR rear shock on our BlackBirds?

rodrash: ask hyperpro.com !

News: i changed the hyperpro fork oil (2.5) for a grade 10. I had some big moments at high speed highway bumps.... too nervous... NOW it's realy perfect.
joeblackbird99
Is that really grade 10 or 1.0?
SwampNut
10 is going the wrong direction. Stock is 7.5 and the bike is known to be over-damped. What is the weight on these springs?
erixx
The weight was on a sticker on the box, i thruw it away... :???:

With overdamped you mean the oil is not flowing fast enough? Too small holes inside?

Anyway, now the bike's behaviour is better for the track: superstable, precise etc... and under hard breaking it stays stiffer.

My set was just delivered and while reading the instructions, I began to wonder about something.

I know that the stock height for the fork tubes to be above the upper triple-clamp is around 39mm.

Hyperpro says to mount the tubes at 50mm above the upper triple-clamp.

I wonder if they measured from the top of the cap or the top of the tube?

Thoughts?
erixx
well Hyperpro instructions are exactly what my mecanician already did to my XX 2 years ago: improve the flickability.

Anyway these modifications are up to you.

I've got a 3 mm spacer in the rear (err, the bikes rear :-) and lowered the front. The bike turns like a supersport!

A HyperPro shock spring for a '93-'95 CBR900RR costs $109.95 from www.hyperprousa.com

I just changed to a HyperPro rear spring tonight and I don't recognize the feel of my own bike. The rear is very stiff feeling but also very smooth over bumps.

I'm going to do the front springs this weekend.
