TAPXX Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Can some one recommend a throttle holding device. I have never used one before, but it would be nice to take my right hand off of the throttle once in a while. Thanks for the help! Todd Quote
Involute Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Check out the NEP throttle lock. 10X less than the Throttlemeister but nowhere near as fancy. Quote
John01XX Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 I have the throttlemeister and hate it. If I had it to do all over again I would pick up the Vista cruise for $25.00. I have to fumble to get the Throttlemeister set. I would prefer the Barender Locks on both sides for weights instead of that big ugly throttlemeister. Quote
Kupa Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Vista cruise. $25. Black where there is only supposed to be black ;-) Quote

I'll buy you a vista cruise and ship it to you if you ship me your throttlemeister. Quote
John01XX Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Actually I should change it out to the Vista Cruise since I am currently selling about 10 of them a month over to Europe and believe in personal experience with products I sell. I am bitching to the manufacture about the size of the thumb lever on the Vista. To big and ugly. I don't really use a throttle lock very often so will just leave it alone and fumble with it when I need it. Thanks for the offer tho......but fook off......get your own Throttlemeister !!  Quote
birdie_xx Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 I have the Vista Cruise and it works. It doesn't fit as well as those I had on my ST1100 and CBR1000...But it's easy to operate... I'm thinking about the Throttlemeister, though. Cost aside, anyone has tried both and likes one over the other. I know that John prefers the VC.... yet he wants to keep the TM  Cheers, Quote
RichardCranium Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Thanks for the offer tho......but fook off......get your own Throttlemeister !! I already have a set...they just dont work too good anymore. Quote
DV8tion Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Find a BMW rider and see if the throttlemeister fairy works it's magic ... don't laugh we have a report of such things. -DV8 out Quote
Redbird Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 I already have a set...they just dont work too good anymore. How so? It doesn't seem like something that'd wear out. I'm curious as to how it may fail. BTW- my vote is for the Throttlemeister. Pricey but worth it, IMO. Quote
JJP XX Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 I have the Throttle Rocker and Throttle Meister. The TR I bought in 02 and now cannot live w/o it. I use it all the time. The TM I bought in 03 and I know I cannot live w/o it. First of all, any and all vibrations in the bars are gone. And the polished ends, well, on my bike anyway, are the best looking part of the bike. The TM does take a while to get used to but it is worth it. Great Day! John  Quote
Northman Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 How so? It doesn't seem like something that'd wear out. I'm curious as to how it may fail. Â Cause he crashed his bike, dude  Quote
Redbird Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 You know what? I figured that out when I was away from the computer, and was hoping to get back and edit it before anybody caught my moronic little question there. Guess not :???: Quote
joeblackbird99 Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 Here's what I did. It works. And I'm cheap. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/newhome.html?/rev...avon3940.html&2 Quote
spEEdfrEEk Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 From best to worst: 1) Throttlemeister 2) Nep CC-3 3) Vista Cruise  TJ  Quote
matey_peeps Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 i vote for NEP (cuz i didn't know about the vista, but it seems the lever is gonna end up in the wrong place anywho). ugly as fuck but works better than i'd hope for $20, and it works perfectly. to quote my friend scott 'if i had it to do all over again, i'd skip the throttlemeister and go for the NEP' Quote
N1K Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 I put my vote in for the throttlemeister... Best $135 I ever spent on my bike. Easy to install... Easy to use... Looks nice... Never tried the other options, but am very satisfied with the throttlemeister. Quote
SwampNut Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 The NEP as shown above. See install instructions and pics on the site. I absolutely HATE the Throttlemeister. Quote
Pete in PA Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 After using the NEP for a year I love it except for the size of the thumb lever so I cut it shorter. Now looks much better and still works fine. I never could justify $200 for a friction device. I would rather use a C-clamp than pay that much. Quote
