dante18 Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 When driving on the freeway or city streets and there are several consecutive bumps in the road or the road is just rough, my bike jumps or slows down due to not keeping the throttle constant. Would adjusting the throttle help or bringing in my Heli-bars help keep the throttle more constant? Thanks for any help... steve Quote
Redbird Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Relaxing, especially in your arms, would help more than anything. Can never hurt to ajust the freeplay out of the throttle, though. Quote
Northman Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 You're obviously moving the throttle a lot, and you have the cables tensioned while riding, anyway, so adjustment will probably do very little for you. I adjusted mine a lot tighter, but only for off-idle transitions, and throttle response on downshifting. Redbird is right about relaxing your arms while riding, and if you're doing a lot of freeway riding, you may want to consider a Throttlemeister. Quote
dante18 Posted January 11, 2004 Author Posted January 11, 2004 Is it pretty hard to install the Throttlemeister? My wife and I are planning a trip to Sedona this May and that would be nice to have... Quote
XX Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 2 things helped me: 1) throttlerocker (ultimately taught be to relax also 2) power commander (much of the twitchiness was tuned out with the new map) but if you want a non-mod answer, it's "relaxing" Quote
Redbird Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Is it pretty hard to install the Throttlemeister? Nope, it's pretty simple. Ten minute job if all goes smoothly. It'll come with instructions and everything you need, including a tool to pull out the right side bar weight. Quote
SwampNut Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 You are holding on WAY too hard, and you're way too stiff! Quote
dante18 Posted January 12, 2004 Author Posted January 12, 2004 I think you may be right on holding on too tight and being a little too stiff. I will try a long ride tomorrow and see how it turns out. I am also going to look into the Throttlemeister... Thanks for the reply's!!! steve Quote
