SLyFoXX Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 I have a few rubs and or scratches on my left mirror, what type of prep work would I need to do to repaint the mirror? I assume I can get matching silver paint through honda dealer. Quote
BDAZ XX Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Steve just order a new one from www.ronayer.com there only $20-$30 bucks. Cheaper than having it color matched at a aint shop and nicer finish. I broke one housing a couple of years ago while trying to mount my radar and picked one up from them. I was shocked at how inexpensive it was. Quote
TOXXIC Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 I replaced both mine through Ron Ayers as they were rock chipped. Definitely the only way to go. I believe I paid $16.00 each. Quote
SLyFoXX Posted January 11, 2004 Author Posted January 11, 2004 Can't beat that Price, I could even afford to screw it up and damage it and buy a new one. thanks Quote
SwampNut Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 If you're going to toss it, would you send it to me? I have a need for a left mirror body I can hack up for a possible project. Quote
SLyFoXX Posted January 12, 2004 Author Posted January 12, 2004 It's the right side, do you need it if so when I replace it yours. Quote
erixx Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 the ronayer link doesn't work! I have to repaint or replace both. Quote
erixx Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 ops! after trying 5 minutes, now it works.... Quote
erixx Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Oh nooooo! They don't do international overseas. Anybody knows a similar cheap supplier on this side of the pont? :?: Quote
SwampNut Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I'll be happy to re-ship them to you if needed. Cost should be pretty low for something that light, and USPS Global Priority takes less than a week to Europe. Quote
erixx Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Thank you Carlos! I might use your offer when i finally decide to 'revamp' the bike (repair smaller scratches, dubble bubble, seat recushioning ) or maybe i'll just order them and store them until the big day. Maybe you want to private messagge me with how you want it to be done or should i e-mail you? BTW, are they Honda OEM, or third party? If so, any negatives? Thanks again! Quote
SwampNut Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I'll post it here for the benefit of other people outside the US that might be reading. Most companies will allow you to order it and ship it to a US address. I just re-label it and send it to you. You can look up the costs at www.usps.gov. I ship packages 3 days a week, and international is no big deal. You can cover the shipping costs via Paypal. If the company won't do that, just Paypal it to me, I'll order it, and re-ship it. I do this with a variety of things that people can't get in other countries. Quote
erixx Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Thanks again for the quick response. I'll look what paypal is, never used it, and let you know. un abrazo! Quote
Northman Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 FYI, Ron Ayers will not ship to a different address than the CC used for the transaction. Best to Paypal the cash to Carlos, then let him do the ordering/shipping. Quote
erixx Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 thanks northman! (maybe the not selling to overseas is a limitation imposed by honda? ) Quote
SwampNut Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Many companies just don't want to deal with the risk, hassles, and costs. Quote
