RichardCranium Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 My front door leaks like a sieve...mainly around the side that opens. We installed a good sweep so it doesnt leak around the bottom. Any tips on an easy way to seal it up? We have a glass "storm door" but it is just ok. Replacing that would probably solve my problem. The house settled and was piered and settled again so there are some gaps. We have that copper stripping stuff around the door but all it does is howl when it gets really windy. Any tips would be appreciated. Quote
SwampNut Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 I've always used the aluminum strips with the round rubber seal attached. When positioned just right, it will seal the door just like a refrigerator seal. Apply silicone to keep it from being squeaky. Quote
EVLXX Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 The cheap and easy way I would suggest, would be for you to buy some of that 1/4 inch foam tape, it's grey and square, then clean and stick it to the inner molding of the jam after the copper (personnally, I removed my copper wheather guard ). Did that make any sence ? If not I can post a pic for ya. My front door is now .... like air tight. Quote
