  1. Check the runout on the rotors. It maybe that the rotors are warped . Just throwing an idea out there. Also how many miles on the wheel bearings? Check them for a knotchy feel or excessive play. It maybe just enough to feel under the extra load of braking when the weight is transferred. Good luck. That sounds logical and the bike has 47,000 miles on it 20,000 plus of which I put on it so maybe its time to change the wheel bearings or at least check them. I will do that and post the results.
  2. I recently change my front tire due to excessive front end hop on braking which I attributed to a cupped front tire. The bike now has a much less severe hop more of an annoyance than the unsettling one it had before. I checked pressure 32psi balanced the tire and changed the fork oil during the tire change and at speed and in turns the bike feels great but when I apply the front brakes the front end shudders slightly and seems to hop up and down. The harder the brakes are applied the more it seems to hop. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this problem. Thanks for the help
  3. I love this bike I was thinking of getting a wing but this seems nearly as comfy two up and faster. Thoughts?
  4. FI Light goes out but pump doesn't click or anything there is a click under the seat at the relay but no whine of the fuel pump I wonder if the relay under seat is faulty?
  5. I haven't done any of the things that you guys have suggested. And im not sure if I even know how to check them.
  6. I was riding to work and my 99 Blackbird the engine cutoff in the middle of the road with no warning. I got the bike home counted the FI light flashes on the dash I noticed that the fuel pump isn't energizing when engine run switch is flipped on and then ran through the trouble shooting procedure in the maint. manual the ignition pulse generator was the apparent problem. I ordered a new one installed it as well as replaced the fuel lines to the gas tank (dry rotting) put bike back together and same result bike wont start don't recall the FI light code but I noticed that the fuel pump still wasn't energizing when engine run switch was flipped on, from this I reason that the fuel pump may be faulty and ordered one off ebay installed it and the same result bike wont start fuel pump still not energizing but codes are no longer flashing. HELP cause my next move is to the stealership. Not sure if this is related or not but I soldered the FI light harness wires several months ago.
  7. Can you bring it to Tally on the 17th? I would love to pick it up from there.

  9. Hi all, I went for a ride Friday nite and one of the guys I rode with informed me that my brake light wasn't working I checked it Sunday and determined that when I press the rear pedal hard the brake light illuminates inconsistently but front break lever application does not illuminate the brake light at all. Any advice on what to check and how to check it would be greatly appreciated. TIA for all the great advice! I have a 99 Bird with stock brake components.
