WTB: Right Lower (Black) and R&G Frame Slider
bartonmd replied to bartonmd's topic in The Sales Floor -- For Sale/Wanted
Yep, at T-NeXXt. See thread in the Pub. Mike -
Just as stated. Need a right side lower, preferrably black, and an R&G frame slider. I'm sure I remember hearing that somebody was looking for a single and couldn't find it, so they ordered another set. Doesn't matter to me if it's got a tipover on it. Gotta look better than mine that's 1/2 worn off! Mike

Awesome, thanks! Yeah, it's pretty funny! I don't think very many people who haven't ridden anything but REAL sportbikes think that anything but a REAL sportbike can run corners. Mike

Awesome, thanks! Mike

Probably because of Putnam being pretty grippy, but the bike felt on rails all day. I was hammering the throttle while still leaned way over and it never did anything funny, at all. Pirelli will only say 24-30psi for these tires on a 370# sportbike. They didn't have an opinion or even any clue what someone on a 550# pig should run them at. Matt (shop owner / racer / tech) said the newer Pirellis like to be run a couple psi higher than comparable Michelins. I'm certain that being a bit lower wouldn't hurt them, because they're not sluffing off rubber and melting down, but grip was great! Mike

Just because there was no real information about these tires on this big heavy pig on the track, I figured I'd just post up for posterity. - '97 XX - 220# rider - Ohlins rear, sprung and valved front - 70-82degF - Grippy track (Putnam Park in West-Central Indiana) - Pressures, cold (at 68F in the morning, before getting on the track), 33.5F / 34R Tires felt very good, and only a little slippery on the first cold lap of the first scession, wearing the mold-release off and getting them scrubbed/heated. After that, they felt great all day. After the day of riding a middle-intermediate pace: Front: Rear:

As stated, you're at about the end of the useful life of your chain/sprockets, regardless of anything else. I replaced my stock chain and front sprocket at ~24k, because I was about to do a trip and didn't want to worry about it. My other DID ZVM2 stuff (2x) have lasted over 30k when I just decided I should probably change them. New front sprocket with every chain, and a new rear every 2 chains has worked for me. Rear showed almost no wear after 1 chain, but at ~50k, at the end of the 2nd chain, it was showing some, so I changed it. If somebody doesn't lube their chain and gets 8k out of it, they may get longer out of a rear sprocket. Mike

Um... isn't unburnt (rich) gasoline smoke brown/black? Mike

Took a chunk out of one of the spark plug valve cover gasket rings on a cam retainer bolt on the way back in, when I checked the valves last weekend, causing me to have to tear the fucking thing back apart; and it's naturally Sunday, and I can't even order one until Tuesday... If anybody has a spare new one, that they can send out ASAP, I can either buy it from you if you don't want another one, or I can order one from ServiceHonda or Ronayers and send it to you... Thanks, Mike

Want to buy: Front fender, preferably black, but whatever... I've got a rattle can... Light scratches, etc. are OK. You've seen the rest of my bike. Thanks, Mike

PM sent on the fluids

Your R/R is likely fine, unless you've figured out differently... It was likely just not making enough voltage, because it was only getting 2 phases of the 3-phase from the stator... As for the stator plug... Eh, I'd just use the insulated spades, or just straight solder the wires together, if it was me... It would only need to come apart if you replace the stator in the future, and then you would just either un-solder them, or cut it off and do it again... Boom, no more corrosion problems at that joint, ever... Mike

So... So much want... Sadly, not until 8 months from now, at the earliest... Used cars/bikes are like women... There's always another one... Mike
