  1. Right now I am so disillusioned with the whole thing that I am either going to put the seat up in storage and put it out with bulky waste 5 years from now or give it to a friend who does ebay frequently. I hope that renhalt likes the new corbin that he will be purchasing. Thank you to those that came to my defense. I have been here since 06 and while I do not post often I read frequently. I have seen the wraith when someone bought something not up to expectations so I was careful in listing the seat and backrest. The Bird is gone and so shall I stop visiting this site. In the words of Douglas Adams, "So long and thanks for all the fish"
  2. Corbin Gunfighter and Lady. Purchased new in 2003. Carbon Fiber Leather covering. Black piping. Excellent condition. No wear marks, tears or any other defects. New $439 plus shipping from Corbin. Asking $330 plus actual shipping. Also, Solid backrest in Carbon Fiber Leather. Again Excellent condition. Only on bike when went for ride with Mrs. New $229 plus shipping from Corbin. Asking $150 plus actual shipping. Thank you for your time.
  3. I could swear the I saw yours on here for sale about a month ago. I am looking to get the Concours so that my wife can ride with me. We came back 190 through your town on Sunday on the way back from the Vanilla Bean Cafe.
  4. Hmmm Had not considered that option. As I just posted today I want to give this a little time it is possible that the new adoptee may not want the seat. I had to get it in order to keep my wife on the back. I will keep you posted. :icon_think: Thanks. I am having pangs but would like the new Concours so I can stop wearing a backpack during my commute. I also want to be able to ride earlier and later in the season with better wind protection.
  5. 2000, Titanium Blackbird, 26,500 miles, Original owner bought new July 2000, Bike is stock except for Corbin seat but have original seat too. New Avon Storm tires, New chain and sprockets. Brake pads replaced at 20,000 miles. Regular oils changes with Honda semi-synthetic oil. Needs nothing. Price $ Will consider reasonable offers
  6. I don't think that there is anything internal that shuts them down because last year my 2000 pegged the temp guage and boiled the antifreeze and kept running. I smelled the antifreeze assumed it was from someone else stuck in the traffic jam and looked down to find the guage pegged. The cause was from months before when a deer hit me and bent the radiator into the fan which took out the fuse. The radiator never leaked so I didn't look for damage up in there. Let the bike cool got out of traffic and air cooling was enough to get me back to the hotel. Replaced the radiator and all cooling components and fortunately no long term damage. I would like a high temp light instead of the stupid FI light!!!
  7. Yes the cost seemed completely out of line. I think that they quoted around $45 before my MSF discounts. I didn't have them pursue the actual cost once they gave me the ballpark.
  8. I have a 2000 with 25,000 miles on it should I be looking at changing the fuel filter this winter? I have always run super in it and there are no issues with the bike currently. Just thinking long term. My parts manager didn't even know the bike had a filter indicating how often he sells them. Doesn't look like a big job once you drain the tank?? Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
  9. Ok my chain is shot at 25,000 and I just pulled out my official shop manual which shows a special tool sold by Honda for removal and installation of a chain. Has anyone bought this? Does it work well? Are there aftermarket ones that are just as good or better? I am writing a "how to" article for a magazine on changing chain and sprockets and want to show the best way. Any and all input greatly appreciated.
  10. I use chain wax and wax every 250 to 300 miles and always after riding in the rain. I never let the chain get shiny. I did recently clean it using the Grunge Brush and solution that came with the brush. Hmmmm???
  11. Greetings, Coming up on 24,000 miles on original chain and can tell by the powdered rust on the rim and chain that it is time for a change. Sprockets still look fine but I am of the if you change the chain do the sprockets too. Is that what most have done or am I old school? Thanks
  12. Well I greatly appreciate the input and went out to test the battery with my meter. The battery read 12.8 without the bike running. Then I noticed that the ground bolt on the battery was completely loose!!!! Arrrgh. I tightened it up road to work today and tried to get the light to blink it did not. Will try again tonight once I ride home. Feeling a bit stupid but greatly appreciate input from airborneXX and rockmeupto125 as starting at the basics hopefully cured the issue. Rowdrunner
  13. I should be at 12 volts with the bike not running and 14 volts with the bike running?
