  1. thanks guys... WTF TRAVIS i'm blaming you for not finding it in the owners manual (ha I also looked front to back and found nothing!) Hope to see you all at Rednexxt, looking forward to the good eats from Josh's wife Mike
  2. can someone measure or post a pic in reference to how high the stock 97-98 forks stick out of the clip ons ? Travis and I did the racetech springs/ fluid swap last night on my bird and we noticed one side is about 1/4 inch higher than the other. I'm pretty sure they dont slide all the way down to the little safety/retainer clips. thanks -mike
  3. funny,. just remembered the guy I bought it from had repaired something because it fried...good catch! mike
  4. yup i bought racetech springs from em' last friday 97 bucks w/ tax and handling, got the email they shipped today...BEWARE of the bulldog roaming the place barton/erik/travis when we installing??
  5. NICE FESCUE!!!! :icon_clap:
  6. Mike, Seafoam is awesome for that! You can get it at most parts stores around here... The carb'd bikes run just fine on '87 too... if your bike doesn't have an ignition advancer (I know yours doesn't), you won't get any benefit out of 93 anyway... Mike nice. I PM'd a guy here who can sell at cost , will get from him if its the deal. otherwise autozone/Advance have it??
  7. whats the best additive I can dump in the tank to clean/improve performance? My 98 carbed bird seems to have a rough idle lately, was wondering if anyone has a suggestion, before i buy the standard shelf products (STP carb clean, etc...) ALSO is it true 87 octane is just as good as 93? I thought that was the case for FI birds only... Thanks! mike
  8. great info guys, thanks alot. Details soon on outcome-mike
  9. hey all-question regarding the XR. Just purchased a few months ago, a very SWEET bike, tons o-ass rippin power, street legal (YES!) etc...but now its DEAD and will not even fire. Very odd becasue it just sorta happened, with no warning signs of any. Tank drained of shitty gas, fresh 93 put in, new plug installed, still nothing. Only cranks (elec start) but no fire. Not sure if this has anything to do with problem but oil service was just completed prior to the death of her. The obvious have been checked, plug draws good spark against metal surface, kill switch is operational, fuel is getting to carb, oil level correct...I AM STUMPED. Bike is bone stock with zero mods. Any suggestions?? thanks is advance Mike
