What is the safe amount of electrical options can you plug in without damaging stator and rect, gps. ipod heated grips etc. Just a 2600km trip and stator not putting out, it is a Ricks with 17000km on it and rect.

Small electrical devices don't pull much load. Heated grips pull a big load.

I wouldn't plan for over 500 watts output from the stator. Subtract your cost of doing business such as headlight, ignition, ECU, running lights plus brake and signals. Then add up the draw from your gadgets.

You should be perfectly fine with a normal load plus a few electrical devices plus heated grips. Start adding extra lights, heated gear and a coffeemaker and you'll be skirting the edge in no time.

500w? Just read where the carb models have a 390w stator and the FI models have a 460w stator. Those are the only numbers I found online though, if someone can come up with others, feel free.

I was just reading in a magazine that one way to check if you have too much electrical crap running at once is to: Hook a volt meter to your battery with the motor running. Hold the revs up and start turning on the electrical stuff one at a time while watching the meter. If it drops below 13.8, it is too much. Keep in mind that at idle with that much draw, it will be discharging.
