  1. Still for sale! Added some other pictures. Will make a serious shipping concession for serious buyers!
  2. The radar and laser unit is mounted under the headlight as seen in the two pics. The readout is on the cockpit as seen in the other pic. Notice the LED mounted above the tach. It works great at night and early morning/evening but is useless in sunlight. There is a helmet module that flashes a red LED into your peripheral that works amazingly well. The front unit has an ambient air thermocoupler that gives you an ambient temp readout on the panel (gee whiz stuff really but it also has a freeze warning feature). The unit is hardwired into the battery and it also gives you voltage readings (cool feature actually). I have fluked it and it is dead-on accurate.
  3. For those that want to see the radar/laser set-up, I will post pics tonight. I agree that Egay bikes are getting a little more, but I simply don't have the time to deal with some of their bullshit. I have had kids play games with me on there. Besides, I'd rather see the bike go to someone who will appreciate it. Oh yeah, I can also avoid Egay's fees and PayPal's butt raping.
  4. Long story short.......I have some irons in the fire right now with a business venture. That means all toys must go. Including my beloved 'Bird. I won't go into too much detail as it is Dutch's old bike. If you know Dutch and his bikes then I don't have to explain further. Those who attended NeXXt 07 saw it. 2003 CBR1100XX 17xxx miles Yoshi cans 6mm rear shim New cush drive Frame sliders Headlight Modulator Whistler Cruisader Integrated Radar/Laser Detector with helmet module. Rear Pilot Power has about 3K miles on it, front about 4K. Plastics are nearly perfect. No issues. No drops, tipovers or other shenanigans. The bike is flawless. I changed all fluids in November and went with Mobil One synth which was recently (last week) just replaced as well. $6000 takes it. In God We Trust, all others pay cash or certified funds. I am willing to work with the buyer on shipping, trailering, meeting within a reasonable distance or even making freight arrangements if needed. I will make a reasonable shipping concession to a serious buyer. Interested, PM me or call my cell at 662-212-4851 anytime. Gene
  5. For sale is my baby! 2002 Suzuki SV650 Naked V-Twin! The bike has been well cared for with regular maintenance done. Oil changed once per month regardless of mileage/usage. Perfect beginner/novice bike yet still a great all-around bike for seasoned riders. Commutes well, handles spirited twisties nicely. I'd like to think of this bike as somewhat customized as far as most SV's go. Here's a run-down: -Dale Walker Hole Shot Fly Screen -Napoleon-Style Bar-End Mirror -Custom Puig Hugger -Custom Hot Bodies Undertail -Fender Eliminator w/ License Plate Brackets -Clear Alternatives LED Tailight w/ Integrated Turn Signals -Short Stalk Front LED Turn Signals -Hot Bodies Rear Seat Cowl (Passenger Seat Included) As far as mods go, I've done a few things: -De-Snorkled Air Filter Housing (better air flow, quicker throttle response, throatier sound) -De-Baffled Stock Muffler (somewhat better performance, throatier sound) -Integrated Programabble Garage Door Opener to Horn Button (pure lazy factor ) -Increased Front and Rear Sprocket Gearing (much better "seat-of-the-pants" acceleration without sacrificed top-end speed-you'll still hit triple digit top speeds) -New Performance GOLD DID Chain with Press On Link -Silverstar Bulbs -New Battery Spring of 2006 I can't stress enough how well this bike has been cared for mechanically. I am a stickler for scheduled as well as preventive maintenance. This bike has always been garage kept. Tennessee weather allows me to ride it a minimum of a couple times per month even on the worst of winter months so the bike has never even seen a battery tender. The bike has never been wrecked or abused. I pull the front wheel up once in a while and only for a very short distance (no oil starvation) and never slam it down. I have ridden this bike to Atlanta, Deal's Gap, Memphis, etc with no reluctance. I'd ride it to Florida tomorrow if needed without batting an eye. I have that much faith in its mechanical strength. I gave you the good, now here comes the bad and ugly The bike has some minor cosmetic dings and scratches (very minor primarily from bumping in garage, rocks, etc) all of which is easily compounded out. The bike was knocked over in a driveway by the first owner, resulting damage is a scratched and dented/bent radiator support bracket. No damage internally, radiator works fine and holds pressure. Absolutely no issues there. Small scratch on clutch cover (not noticeable due to touch up paint used). Here's the bottom line deal: $2750 you pick-up in Michie, Tennessee or I deliver/meet you within a 100 mile radius. $3300 gets the bike profesionally crated and shipped via LTL carrier, fully insured. Now, here's how to get it. I need the full amount delivered to me via certified funds (cashier's check, postal money order, Western Union or Walmart's money transfer service) within three (3) business days of auction ending. We will then work out the remaining details. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, CALL MY CELL AT 662-212-4851.
  6. I listed this on Ebay last night. While I had every intention of keeping it and turning into a track bike, tax "issues" are making me get rid of it. Besides, I envision the 'bird getting most of my attention this season anyway. CLICK HERE TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE EBAY LISTING
  7. I used to be hardcore "real wood all the way". I recently installed about 1000 sq feet of Mohawk dark cherry laminate. It has the backing built in and seams are snap-lock plus pre-glued. All you do after tapping it in and locking it is wet mop the seams fairly well and leave it. The moisture will work in and activate the glue. The only drawback with a dark color for us has been the amount of dirt it shows........
  8. Yeah, but Dan Marino's 'Bird isn't for sale. Dan Morino's is though......
  9. Post this over on Cycle Forums in the Tennessee>Nashville thread. I believe there's a fellow over there who may be interested. I bought Dutch's out from under him a few months ago.
  10. Is this the same Lewis from Jackson/Memphis that rode with MSSR?
  11. Contact cement. You want something with a quick set-up. Take a rolling pin to squeeze any air out and also to help with the adhesion. Use acetone to remove any excess that seeps out. 12. I just did the first (my first) oil mand filter change on the XX. Switched from Honda semi-synth to Mobil 1 Motorcycle full synth. Nothing major, can't really understand the issues I've read about here dealing with difficulty reaching the filter, etc. Didn't even need to put the bike on 2x4 as my pan fit perfectly underneath. Anyway, in the posts I've read here, the one filter I never saw mentioned was the CarQuest brand. Just like Napa's, only black. Made by Wix (even has Wix branding on the back of the box). Nice heavy, solid construction feel like Purolator and Wix branded. $8.05 with tax locally. For those interested it is part number 85358.
  13. Yeah, I was giggling! It scared me for a minute because (this is becoming a pattern with this bike no matter what you do) it feels right at home doing it!!!! On my SV which wheelies like a maniac, a tap of the rear brake sits her down. The 'Bird was perfectly content up there and it took a bit of effort to get her down.
