renmack
Ok, I’m still contemplating whether to get a Yoshimura exhaust or not. Does anyone have one and how do you like the sound? I found a good price at http://4wheelonline.com and I have two options—the RS-3 Zyclone and RS-3C slip-on. Anyone familiar with these Yoshi’s? Thanks guys. blackhawkxx
I have the slip-ons and like the sound. They are not too loud but build as the RPM's go up. Kind of like a sports car.
RichardCranium
I had RS3s on my bird when I bought it. They sounded good. Not bassy IMO but I was told I sounded like a F1 car when I went by people at full song. They are well made cans.
Warp11XX
I have a Yosh RS-3 stainless 4-1 hanging on the wall. Absolutely LOVE the sound it makes from bottom to top. The XX just looks so much more balanced with twin cans though and I changed to Micron slip-ons using the OEM headpipe. No difference in performance either way regardless of custom dyno plotted PCIII maps. It's all just about appearances....

Not to highjack but there was no difference at all? I would think that there would be some change in power peaks or something.
renmack
Thanks for the info, guys. I went with the RS-3C. Will give my reaction once it is installed.

Dyno said just slightly under 135/79 at peak with the Yosh system on a very muggy 85+ degree morning. I used a pre-stirred map when I went to the Microns but haven't dyno'ed. Seat of the pants says no change except in the audible....nice throaty rumble now but no perceptable changes in peak torque or curve. If there is a difference, it must be very, very small. CALCXX
I have the dual RS3 cans on my #2 XX. I like the sound. Kinda like a sports car. They even cackle on deceleration. Have gotten compliments on the sound.
brianmacza
My son Gavin has a full Yoshi 4 into 1 system on his '00 and it sounds like a crappy CBR600 My '97 on the other hand has a crappy no-name set of stainless slipons that sound like sex and crackle on the overrun. Carbie for the WIN
