Replaced dash panel since lcd display went out so display says 19,xxx but is actually 30,xxx. Clean title in hand. Located in Baytown, TX (outside of Houston) $4,500 Thanks, Nick nick_grnr81@yahoo.com
  2. Well looks like the mechanic was right. Has a burn spot on the board. It is drawing the battery down slowly. I can unplug the connection and the volts rise up and plug it in and the volts draw down ever so slowly. Will post a pic when I get to my computer.
  3. Thanks for the replies guys, Actually, John told me that you would be the one to talk to on here. I will definitely try to put a fresh battery in it and take it down the road and maybe shake the gremlin out of it. Looks like I will have to buy the whole panel to get the board then if that doesn't work. Which brings me to my next question...Anybody got a board/panel for sale???
  4. Hello guys, I just recently had the first issue with my Bird after 5 years of owning it. John from bikebits.us actually filled me in on this site. It looks like i was already a member but just forgot all about this site. I was going to sell my '02 so I have it on consignment at a bike sales place here near my house. It sat there for a while and in that time I decided against selling it since i missed it so i went to pick it up a few weeks later. This is what i did when i went to pick it up. Sat on the bike, turned on key,,,,nothing, not even a glimmer of electricity anywhere. I told the mechanic, we put the battery on charge, charged it for an hour. Sat on it, turned the key, heard the fuel pump come to life but no LCD display at all, battery was too weak to start though so we put a new battery in it. Started it after new battery install, started fine but no LCD panel, tach worked, lights, blinkers, everything except the lcd display. So the mechanic looked into it called me back telling me that the circuit board for the panel had a burn spot on it and that was also causing the battery to drain. He put a volt meter on it with the panel still connected and could watch the volts drain. Disconnected the panel and no more draw on the battery. He says i need a new panel. He has been searching for one with no luck. I plan on going to pick her up this week to get her back in my garage and fix it myself. Question is, Do i need an ENTIRE now panel or can i just replace the circuit board (if that is even the problem) I live near Houston, TX so if there is anyone around that may have what i need i would greatly appreciate it. It's not very easy to find select parts for a Bird anymore as you all know. Thanks in advance for the help!
