  1. It's in my sig, but 2001, and gold tinted. No worries, thinking to possibly try my hand at smoothing it and polishing it, before coughing up for a new one if I have to.
  2. I'm looking for a replacement stator cover, if someone has a parts bike with one in good shape. I thought I'd rather support a member here before spending to some random seller on eBay! I hit a patch of mud in my driveway while taking a u-turn, took a ~1-2 mph tip and slide, scuffed it enough to be annoying to me, but not mechanically an issue.
  3. If you guys haven't found any yet, take a look at the stuff over on 14point7.com I havea pair of the OEM boards from him that are going into my car project, but he also makes a few simple solution setups for easy installation. No affiliation other than as a customer, and I'd never heard of the company until they came up during some discussions on the MegaSquirt EFI forums about reliable WB O2 controllers and what was available in north america.
  4. Hey, I checked, it wasn't that much of a thread resurrection! Personally, I'd been intending to install the silly thing since about a month after I bought the bike, just lost it a time or ten along the way... Definitely handles better than my old CBR 600 F2 did, no matter the weight of the bike!
  5. I'm 6'4" so the 6mm shim was not too tall. What a difference it makes in response. Like Crypt Keeper said, pairing it with some sticky tires makes the bird feel a lot more like one of the newer sport bikes, but with the power and smooth behavior we expect of the birds. I definitely reccomend this change.
  6. I know it's been a bit since the request, but if she doesn't already have a name, what about Lightning Bug? Not sure why, just struck me as possibly appropriate. I'm sure there are others that can come up with more smart ass names, if you go out in the Pub with the request though!
  7. Was the ECU good, or dead? I'm still looking for a dead one for a standalone management project.
  8. If you haven't already, keep an eye on craigslist in your area. I've seen a number of compressors on the local listings, anywhere from the little oilless/useless ones, up through commercial screw driven compressors designed to support a few HVLP guns in a body shop. (the bigger ones running around $3k though!) I ended up with a couple Emglo compressors, one with a perforated tank, and the other just a pump, but they work well, and parts are still available. I grafted the pump onto a dead tank I had from a neighbor, and ended up with a working compressor. Supposedly rated for 8cfm, but I'm not quite sure I believe that, with the current pully ratio.
  9. The little Ford Ranger inline 4 that was in my work truck had 8 plugs as well, though it's not an I-4 motorcycle engine...
  10. I just had a set of PP's installed, front and rear. The local dealers were smoking something with pricing, even for mount and ballance, other than one shop that'd just opened and had the PP set for $214 out the door after tax. As to how they'll handle over time, I'm not sure yet, but I'm willing to replace a rear at 4-5k if they keep handling anywhere near as sure footed as they are as I'm still breaking them in!
  11. Would the lap timer mount interfere with anything on a stock bike's gauge area? If not, I'm interested.
  12. Like the title says. A few years back I laid down my '01, and eventually got around to replacing the bodywork, but couldn't bear just trashing the body panels. If anyone wants: a right lower with a little rash over the center mounting hole, a nose cowl with the right "ear" where it wraps around the windshield cracked/broken, right mirror cup lightly scuffed, and/or the front hugger scuffed on the right front corner, they're all fair game for whatever it costs to ship to wherever. I'm trying to get out of a storage unit, and even though these are light, they take up space.
  13. I'm running Avon AV46 front and AV48 rear, with 6000 miles I've put on them so far. The rear is getting a little flat, so I'll likely be replacing it before too much longer, but we'll see. The front is showing little wear at all. In Washington's wet weather, it's handled rain with no gripes, and my reasonably mild sporty riding style. I'd heard that the Storm replaced these, but that they weren't living up to the standard of the tires they replaced, but I don't know that for fact.
  14. Erf, Nm my unedited post here, if anyone saw it. I had a set of the ZE-512 tires for 3 days on my STI, and they were awful under something with that much power. From what I've heard, the 912's are supposed to be the cat's meow, as long as you don't need great wet/cold traction.
  15. Since this got bumped already, are there any more stops available?
