Angel GT

On my second set on the Busa. I use an A spec in the rear A BlackBird probably needs the A spec as well.

7000 miles on the last set. Still good tread, but not enough for the 2500 miles I racked up on the OZARXX trip.

The second set looks great after 2500. Not much of a flat on the rear, consdering 1800 of those miles were on a flat straight road. They stick well. I prefer them to the PR2's I ran, but never tried PR3 or PR4.

They also perform well in COLD WET conditions.

The original Angels suck. They didn't stick well, and wore to the steel belts in just over 4000 miles.

I had better tread life and WAY better traction and handling with Diablo Rosso II tires.

I'm looking for a good tire (alternative to the Pilots) to take on a 4K trip that can withstand some pretty good abuse. Stupid internet gets into your head when I hear about Angel's dead at 4K, I was ready to mount a set and all of a sudden I'm not so sure. If you are getting 7K that's pretty reassuring.

I got 5000 miles on a set of the new version of Angels on my ZX14.
By comparison, I averaged 8000-9000 on Road 2's and Road 4's.
I just mounted another set of Road 2's as I want the extra mileage and got a great deal.

Ping KryptKeeper on this research....I believe that he had a set that was unfit for safe and pleasant use. If that is the same tire and model that he had, there was a SIGNIFICANT problem with them. Huge balance issue and major thump in front tire from some defect. I'm not sure what the resolution turned out to be....

Those were Avon 3D ultras I had issues with.

Worse fucking tire ever created by a tire company and the last time I buy anything from Avon ever again. Crap loads of weight needed to balance, and still shook like all hell, yanked off all the weights on the front and still shook but not nearly as bad. Even at 34psi running 33 miles on the Back of the Dragon they were so-so warm and slid around like snot.

Hope Avon tires burns down and goes out of business.

I had been looking at the GT tires though, have friends running them and they love them. Will go with BT16pros again (had 5 sets and loved them) as they are super cheap right now, or try the S20.

On my 2nd set on the XX. Got 7500 miles on the first rear and could have stretched longer. Really like the handling. I like the PR2 and PR3 but would go Angel GT again in a second if the cost was anywhere close.

Avon's are the worst motorcycle tires on the market, and lousy customer/dealer support to boot.

Standard spec tire...I really liked them.

They were very confidence inspiring.
Front went before the rear by 1000-1500 miles.

No love at all for Road 3's and the Road 4's were slow handling but good otherwise.

My bad...pay me no mind and carry on....for some reason I had it stuck in my head that they were the Angel's. I've never felt a front tire thump worse that wasn't actually flat.

I ran 42 lbs front and rear and did on all the tires I tried.
The Blackbird as well as the ZX14 are heavy bikes and as such, I figured that inflation was prudent.
As far as mileage variation, could be road surface, speed, load, how one rides, all kinds of stuff.

I used to be a fairly heavy trail breaker and wore the sides off the front tire before the center.

Lately, I've tried to be smoother with less heavy breaking and I see much more even wear.

Lots of reasons why different people get different miles from the same tires.

I've had 2 sets of Angels. Only tyes so far where I have gone through 2 fronts to a rear instead of the other way around!

I found them to be fairly quick steering, but not to the point of making me nervous with rapid tip in that made me feel like the front was going out the way many do.

just replaced my rear (angel gt), probably coulda nursed another few hundred before seeing threads... a wee bit of cupping, both front and rear. plenty of tread left up front. upon checking my folder of receipts;

almost 7500 miles! now i don't feel so bad about paying my local brick and mortar $230 out the door (i brought in the wheel)...

it felt great all the way to it's end, i'd highly recommend this one.
