  1. Count me, in pending on how soon you'll need the cash monies. Warchild ya said $253.15 each? That'd be a great deal considering the tunability these offer, ya? Good on ya! ThanXX! :icon_clap:
  2. I've been combing all the posts relative to tires, wear characteristics and handling, forming my choices for the change over in tires and brands. I've not come across a post that addresses the handling characteristics comparing AV45/46 and the Michelin Roads. So I decided to start a new one to separate from all the rest. Currently, the Michelin Roads are mounted. And although I enjoy the mileage they offer, I feel as if it's a trade off to sluggish responce in the handling dept. I'm leaning toward the Michelin Power front and a new Road in the rear. However, I've never had the experience of the Avon AV 45/46. So the question to those who have tried the Roads and AV45/46's. Do the Avon's turn in quicker than the Roads and give the bike the spry feeling I'm looking for in addition to mileage longevity? Or do you think the Power/Road combo would offer the best offering of performance handling since this particular choice typically wear the same? What say you? ThanXX!
  3. See my reply in this thread for battery info... http://www.cbr1100xxforums.org/forum/viewt...8583&highlight=
  4. The reason why I asked is that typically when you free up the exhaust, intake or both, you lean the air/fuel ratio out which inturn would cause the engine to run a bit hotter since it's running leaner. How much hotter? I don't know. But, I wondered if you balanced out the mix (with the fuel injected engines in mind) using the PC2/3's, if there was a notable drop in temperature. That's all. Just curious more than anything. I imagine the stock computer would compensate to a degree, but not as much as with the addition of the Power Commander.
  5. Been procrastinating with buying and installing a PC2 for my '00 XX ($). But I've been wondering if anyone has noticed a drop in engine temperature after installation since this would eliminate the lean condition of an aftermarket exhaust. Can you REALLY feel a power difference with a PC2/3? Comments?
  6. Russ, I think Tomek is onto something here. Do you go to the same gas station all the time? Think'in you got some bad gas exacerbated by sitting in your tank for a while. Like Tomek suggested, try draining the float bowls a bit on your carbs. Not all the way at first. If you do that then there won't be anything in there at all to fire up. Still suggest some of that Isoheat and perhaps the Seafoam (http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTechGas.htm ). Or maybe just the Seafoam might be better. These two additives are great. Flame on, but that Isoheat/Seafoam has worked wonders for me on many occasion with different machines. It blends the water with the fuel so you can burn it to alleviate the symptoms your describing. Good stuff. Might be a good time to change your plugs like Pete suggested. Think'in most people go with the NGK Iridium. They work well for me and the CR9EHIX-9 are for the '97-2000 XX's. http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_appOther...ID=29684&mfid=1 You won't have to gap the new plugs. Although some of the more left brained types may disagree. Torque 'em in and start w/ choke as if nothing ever happened after you've drained all carbs a bit. If my Bird were having these symptoms this is what I'd do. But then again, maybe your XX caught that Bird flu that's been spreading. Best O' luck to ya.
  7. Put some ISO HEAT in the fuel tank with fresh gasoline. It's the red bottle, not the yelow one. Sounds like some water is in the tank. Most likely from condensation with heating and cooling. It's common Go for a bit of a ride to mix through the fuel system.
  8. I stumbled across this forum and thought it may be of some interest considering all the hubub about HID, with the group buy and whatnot. http://hidplanet.com/forums/index.php Here's some informative links: http://faqlight.carpassion.info/index.html http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html 8)
  9. ThanXX for that info North! But what # are those bulbs for the idiot lights, then. Since the dash lights are 194, here is an alternate. You can plug and play these LED's lights in there. http://autolumination.com/194.htm
  10. Maybe things are different in the '97 and '98's. I've a 2000. Been a while since I looked back in there, but from what I remember, they are not 194's. They are significantly smaller. From what I gather, I understand that the 2001 and later use LED's. But I am pretty dadgum sure the '99's and 00's do not use the 194's. That's why I asked.
  11. Does anyone know the bulb # for those lights in the dash? I thought they were 194's but are allot smaller. Anyone?
  12. It's all pretty cool to see what people use for entertainment during their rides and to bump it against what's practical for our own uses. For me, I really like Steve's set up. Not too complex and doesn't have to be that expensive. Looked at some reviews on the iRiver. http://www.3dxtreme.net/index.php?id=iriverifp190tc1 They had some pretty good things to say about them and pointed out allot of nice features that'd come in handy on a ride. However, I usually ride with earplugs in to keep the wind noise out at speed. So maybe, eventually ($), those earplugs that Kbird pointed out http://www.earplugco.com/prod01.htm would be the way to go. ThanX for all your inputs! :smokin:
  13. Sounds good John. Do you have a link so I can see more info about your set up? How many monies does this type of set up go for?
  14. Been wondering what kind of setup people have for tunes while riding. What kind of speakers you have and how you've installed them in your helmets. I see some people use satellite radio and others use a mp3 or Ipaq. I'm interested to know how you rigged your system up. Especially the speakers in the helmets and... Where’d ya buy 'em? I'm looking for suggestions. ThanX
  15. Yeah. That's a good question. They always seem to break underneath the lower fairing... under the exhaust header collector. Think I remember seeing something similar in the help section @ Pepboys.
