  1. let me look at that post....
  2. First of, thanks for sending me an email reminder to come back and check out the site. It's been awhile. (Seems forums aren't as popular as they once were. sad). Anyway, has anyone here had experience with these fork internals? Or with doing business with Omnia Racing of Italy? I http://www.ebay.com/itm/Andreani-Misano-Fork-Cartridge-Kit-105-H18-Honda-CBR1100XX-CBR-1100-XX-/111804790836?fits=Model%3ACBR1100XX&hash=item1a0815b834:g:b8AAAOSwI-BWJ0yK&vxp=mtr I have ordered them (birthday gift from my bride. Yup, I'm blessed), and hope that I made a good choice. The Bird has always lacked in the front. Not adjustable , squishy feeling, and not very stable on hard braking or hard cornering. I'd trade it in, but I still like the big girl overall. comments or opinions?
  3. Finally had time to swap the throw-out bearing and pusher last night after work. All is well with my Bird once again. Bad bearing. I was able to get a good nights sleep once again. lol.
  4. Picking up parts tomorrow. Haven't even opened it up yet to find out what is up....but sounds like this is the answer.
  5. Thanks Jon for the response and ideas to look at. I need to understand the transmission better, or at least what is going on during the clutch release. When the clutch is released, and the rod is riding against the throw out bearing (if there is one), does that set of discs and bearing stop rotating until clutch "take up" happens again? If that IS the case, then I feel that you are right on target with the throw out bearing and rod. I was thinking to much like a car/truck where the throw out continues to spin during disengagement since it rides on the pressure plate that is attached to the fly wheel and never stops spinning, only the clutch disc stops during disengagment. So, does the throw out bearing and related parts stop turning while the clutch is disengaged?
  6. I have an '02 bird that I have started noticing vibration in the clutch lever when I apply pressure on it while in neutral, but it goes away after the clutch has been disengaged . I may have been there for years and I just started paying it attention, but not sure. Once I pull the lever all the way in it goes away. It is only when I am starting to pull the clutch in while in neutral. I don't notice it while in gear , even while under load going down the road. So, for those that have knowledge in the area of bird trannys....is there a problem on the horizon? Or is this normal for a 30,000 mile bike? Please advise. Thanks so much.
  7. JUST had a custom paint job done and dropped the blackbird on the Dragon this last week. Busted the left fairing pretty good. Need one, anyone got one they want to sell?
  8. Well, the bird was factory silver. I am repainting a new color, however I think those same decals would work well with it. It is going to be candy tangerine. Very deep and rich color with some pretty good flake. Need these decals soon.
  9. I am looking for the correct decals for a 2002 bird. Went to RonAyers.com and there are 4 different types to pick from...does anyone know the right part numbers for the 2002?
  10. Haven't been on here in quite some time. So, hello fellow b-bird riders, again. Looking for a long distance seat. Hear good things about the corbin. Besides that, are there other brands that you guys/gals have liked. Not really into the butt beads thing. Good for ventilation I guess. Anyone had theirs re-foamed with any success? So, I guess I am looking for advice or a better seat. Anything out there?
  11. DITO on that...well, except I need silver.
  12. Well I use SHINKO Ultra Soft. I'm stretched 10" over, lowered 1"....I take Ocala Forest Road 8 in triple digits. I have NO chiken strips on the left and about 1/8" on the right...because the erion header scraps. They stick just fine. They wear just fine. They have seen 182 mph...just fine. In fact, you pretty much have to have an R1, or a Gixxer 1000, or a 1000RR that isn't stretched to beat the bird to the other end of the road...WITH shinko u-soft. They just don't look as "cool" as pilots or qualifiers...But most other riders only see the rear for a moment. LOL.
  13. Thanks There fella's. Now all I need is to win the freakin' lotto! Or whore out my girl friend...I have about as much luck with either of those options. (I would do it for her) Nice looking wheels though. Again, thanks
  14. Has anyone ever tried changing out the rear wheels of their BB with something from a 1000RR or something like that? Looked for custom on-line, but the basturds don't appretiate a great bike like the Bird! Just trying to get something to help flatten out a 200mm tire. (Yeah, I know..."it won't handle as well without the 'stock' set up". But I'm more of the beat the damn busa to the next light kinda guy!!!) Greatful for any help. -John
