WTB used plastic bits

Recommended Posts

I want to get the 2 left upper cowl covers. On the Ron Ayers microfiche they are part #'s

64596-MAT-D00ZA & ZB

I could get them new, but I would like a little weather on them. They list for $24 each, and if what you have is in perfect but weathered condition, I'll pay that much.

Thanks!

Philip, the left one is a little rough. See what you think.

Let me look at it when I get there. Mine is a little rough also. Kind of like us, eh, old man?

Looks like both sides on my wrecked '02 survived unscathed. They're weathered, I guess, since they're 12 years old. ;-)

If you are still looking, I can take some photos. I just took them off today to get the dash out.

Yes, I am still looking. If there are no structural problems with them, I am good. I will double check today for any fitment issues. Is your bike so wrecked you are parting it out?

No structural problems that I noticed, but I'll take a closer look tonight just to be sure. I'll take a couple of photos as well.

Yeah, the '02 is totaled ... I bought an Aussie blue '00 to replace it and have been occasionally scavenging parts off the '02.

I'm not really planning to part the whole thing out. It just happened that I'd taken those pieces off and remarked to myself how they had survived unscathed (the upper cowl and windscreen are both broken off at the top). And, then I saw your post. So, coincidence.

Once I am pretty sure I have everything I need off of it, I'll sell the bike for parts ... to Joe if he wants it. ;)

On a possibly related note, my wife & I will be staying in Pigeon Forge & riding around the Deals Gap / Cherohala area this weekend.

DAMN!

I just read this. Wifey and grandson were all over the Cherohala/Robbinsville/Deal's Gap area yesterday. You may have got stuck behind our blue minivan.

How much, can you mail them to me, give me a way to pay you.

Joe, no hard feelings?

We were driving home yesterday, though we spent most of Saturday & Sunday in the area. We even passed another XX on the Cherohala Sunday afternoon, the only one other than mine I saw all weekend. We took the shorter way back Sunday evening across 73/321 through Maryville, though, so we were probably practically right down the street!

You just want the left one, correct (64596-MAT-D00ZA)? You mentioned two parts ... I'm not sure what other piece you're looking for. I don't see a 64596-MAT-D00ZB listed, nor can I picture what second part there is to the left inner cowl?

As far as price goes, how does $20 shipped (PayPal, mailed check, whatever) sound?

  • 2 weeks later...

BTW, if you're looking for the other left inner cowl part, the part that wraps around the tank, mine has a hole drilled in it for the switch for my grip heaters. The part # for that part is 64320-MAT-000ZB.

-Bob

Yes, I do! That is the other part I am looking for. The 2 (two) pieces of plastic that run from the tank to the windscreen. The hole is OK, since I am putting my grip heater switch back on.

Give me a way to pay you, I will take care of it this week. You can PM me if you want.
