XXitanium
....or Linux is proving more difficult than I expected. This laptop was supposed to be for general family use. It's not getting up on plane fast enough for me. I'm making progress, but some of the banging around - I would have a difficult ime reproducing my efforts efficiently - https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/devices/chromebooks.html#toshiba What is the downside on these? What benchmarks do they meet as far as how they compare to other laptops? Two years of free Google storage - then what? Is the OS going to be abandoned like XP at some point, or upgraded? https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/devices/chromebooks.html#asus-chromebox inquiring minds want to know. Iceman_40
Chrome Book runs chrome OS, should be around for a few years. At that price you likely won't be using it in 2 years the OS will get bigger as they add more stuff and the hardware won't be as good as the new stuff the updates are made to run on. It's probably closer to a tablet than a laptop. Great battery life, can do most of what the average user does. As far as I remember the apps all work without internet just designed to have your files in the "cloud"
