This is an Appalachian word that is interchangeable with y’all. Northern Appalachians (in Pennsylvania) also say it, but they pronounce it yinz while Southern Appalachians pronounce it like a German umlaut u, or yünz. blackhawkxx
I grew up saying yinz but never really spelled it. Thanks for the explanation.

KenNcDoD
Good stuff on the etymology of yunz and yinz. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, but I've been here in North Carolina for many years. I thought I'd throw in a yunz for fun. I use yall, you all, and even all yall from time to time. Fortunately, I still sound like a Yankee. 😉 A lot of NC natives lack any trace of accent, which surprised me at first. Googus' black '03 is a dandy, but it's set up for a 140 lb rider. That won't stop me, but it will eventually add to the cost. Suspension upgrade from DMr Motorsport. Sweet!
