Zero Knievel
I'm just amazed someone wore a set out.
Furbird
Might not be that. I left a disc lock on mine once by accident, got almost a full rotation in before it hit the caliper, and bent the rotor.
NoOne65
I bought some wavy discs and the brakes are "pulsing"...I am thinking they are warped BUT like an idiot I threw the stock ones out thinking I wouldnt need them
XXitanium
I know, shit's spendy. I replaced the front discs on my Hurrican' a couple years ago. Price per pound is almost equal to gold for new discs.
XXitanium
engRish... https://japan.webike.net/HONDA/CBR1100XX+SUPERBLACKBIRD/Brake+Discs/312/1012/mc/ Do you know what happened to yours or did it just develop gradually? I went with EBC. My wife and occasionally the kids ride it. I wanted to try to do it right. The local shop quoted two piece riveted, but the part s that came were one piece. They work well and the pulsing has gone away. Edited April 16, 2017 by XXitanium
NoOne65
I cant afford to replace with new right now...I just need a set to get me by until I can find work
XXitanium
I understand. I was comiserating with you. The only charge I put on my credit card in the last year was a bike repair. It was a bad financial decision on my part.

redxxrdr
Brake button cleaning i have no rotors, but this process did remove a slight pulse on my bike. Might be worth a try
The Krypt Keeper
I try to clean my buttons yearly and still amazed at the crap that I wash out of them.
Furbird
Had no idea about this process. I'll have to check and see if my new rotors have buttons or not (can't remember) but will definitely have to check the ones on the dragbike and the other bird as well. If all's good there try for a refund or exchange. If you can't return them check the buttons to make sure they're not jammed up. I accidentally warped a rotor once doing a tire change. I found where the warp was and was able to pull on it by hand & the pulse went away. Get the front in the air and spin the tire to figure out which is warped where. You can hold something against the fork like a screwdriver with the tip at or near the rotor and see where the high/low areas are while it spins. XXBirdSlapper
Set up the bike with the front wheel off the ground and firmly locked to the steering stop. Use a dial indicator to check for runout. I have heard brake pad deposits on the rotors can also cause pulsing.
The Krypt Keeper
Coke bottle next to lifted front end almost touching rotor. Spin wheel and look for anything signs of it touching or hearing it touch.
