Redbird
I'm getting out of the .40 game. It's a beautiful, accurate handgun but I haven't shot it in a over a year. The money can fund something I might actually take out of the safe once in a while. It's had 400-500 trouble free rounds through it. It's for sale locally for $875, same price here but I'll cover shipping and FFL fees on my end.
TOXXIC
That is one gorgeous pistol!
superhawk996
It's beautiful, I'm glad I don't buy FFL (AKA registered) guns or I might have to crack open an envelope of cash. What makes it not on your radar to shoot? Are those little dings on the front strap from shooting while wearing a ring(s)?
Redbird
What makes it not on your radar to shoot? I had a period where I was trying very hard to like .40 S&W, it just never took. I have enough other handguns in .38, 9mm, .45 and .22 that this thing just unconsciously fell out of the rotation. It's a beautiful gun and it feels great in the hand, but I just don't shoot it. I'd love to pick up the 9mm version, which is probably what any sale money would go toward unless something else distracts me first. Are those little dings on the front strap from shooting while wearing a ring The only ring I wear is a wedding ring and I'm left handed, so that's as good a guess as any. IcePrick
Yup, I'm done with .40 also. 9mm ballistics have come a long way. I can shoot the 9mm better, I can reload it well, it's cheaper to reload, it carries more ammo, and some research a friend did shows .40 is intrinsically less accurate than 9mm (not like I'm a competitive shooter, but I can use all the help I can get). If that were a 9, I would already have sent my money. GLWS.
Redbird
That was a hell of a sales pitch, Mike. Everyone just ran out of this thread to shop for a 9mm. I should contact a mod about having that removed. Just busting your balls...I agree with every word and said pretty much the same thing in my last post. There's still .40 s&w guys out there, for them, this is a great gun. It's also a dense little fucker, so recoil isn't as horrible as you'd think for such a small gun.
IcePrick
I realized I crapped in your thread just after I posted. Sincere sorries. For the record, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of a .40, however I feel about it. That is a very high-demand pistol, there was a time a couple years ago when they couldn't keep up with demand. I don't believe you will have any difficulty offing it. XXitanium
This forum has been boon and a damnation to me I have bought so much stuff here.. I don't have any pre-cocieved notions, or a large collection to compare it to. (Or much money to spend right now) If I did I'd big it right now. Redbird
I don't believe you will have any difficulty offing it. Yeah, shouldn't be a problem and I'm in no hurry. My neighbor just got done fondling it and I have a feeling he's at home right now googling "Springfield EMP".
TOXXIC
Although .40 is a "snappy" round it is exceptionally lethal. If you were closer it would be mine. Like Oscar, at this point not sure I want another gun on paper.....You should put it in your crank case or (tank bag) and bring it to Cody, WY. Crank case sounded way more OMG member like.
blackhawkxx
From what I have read, I'll take .40 over 9mm in the case of stopping bad things happening.

Dude, like you're not already on about a dozen lists. What's one more gun? From what I have read, I'll take .40 over 9mm in the case of stopping bad things happening. The difference in terminal ballistics between modern defensive handgun cartridges isn't as great as some believe, even when you bump up to .45ACP and the vaunted 10mm. They all suck compared to just about any centerfire rifle. Shot placement trumps everything. Use a round that you shoot well and meets FBI penetration standards, the rest is for arguing on the internet about.

Redbird
Thanks, I suppose I'm not helping my own cause much here, am I? That's okay, .40 guys won't listen to all that bullshit, anyway.

I live in a gun free home, check the computers. It's somewhat silly I'm sure, but if things ever became crazy I won't be on the radar and wanna keep it that way. Sucks that it makes me a criminal to have some toys while other types of toys are perfectly legal. Another reason to move outa Ca. Once you have anything on paper I don't think adding another makes much difference. I guess there's a number where you'd look like a mad man with an arsenal, no clue how many that would take. If you have enough to worry about that you're doing well!
SoCalBird
Finestine head would explode if she got within 100 yards of my house. CALCXX
I think your EMP would be a great carry piece. The EMP is a step up from the Ultra Compact. I have a 9mm Ultra Compact and it functions well. The EMP is even better. Someone needs buy it.
Redbird
Someone needs buy it. Yeah, and his name is Cal. (: Had a few nibbles locally and my neighbor asks if I still have it every time I see him, but so far it's still here.

superhawk996
I get adding pressure, but lying to the neighbor and showing him that you're the kinda guy willing to welch on a deposit is probably not a good idea.

Redbird
Just took the neighbor, who's been on the fence for months, shooting today and he took a pass. He was sorely tempted until he shot the TRP. Now he's shopping full size 1911's in .45, can't say I blame him. Â So...I need this thing gone. $750 shipped to your FFL.or $700 FTF in IL and it's yours.
