Looking at LED bulbs

Clear Alternatives has some amber LED bulbs that fit the standard 1157 socket. Has anyone tried to put these into a Bird's stock front signals? Any problems with fit? Resistors needed? Bright enough?

I have used LED 1157 bulbs on many of my other motos.. I plan to use them on my Blackbird also.. never had a problem, there are plenty of different type of LED bulbs that could be suitable for tail light or turn signal light usage, you just need to find the right ones for your purpose.

no good.

The bulbs mount in the housing at an angle. LED's need to be viewed straight on

I was hoping the reflector would help with that problem. :icon_think:

Just some selections that are avaialble:

Very nice. Kinda pricey, but probably worth it. Anybody else?

The reflector won't help with the end mounted type.

These 'should' work

these look like the ones I have in the Bird. Work very well, I don't use the daytime running lights so I connected them upto the indicator so they all illuminate .

I didn't like anything off the shelf, so i made my own out of a breadboard and red/orange superflux. They are super bright. I can see them reflect off of street signs at night even with my headlights on.

Why do you avoid "day time" running lights? No headlight on during the day? Wouldn't you be more visible to oncoming traffic? However, you just replaced the bulbs with those leds? No issues? Thanks

what you can't read? daytime running lights are also in the indicators, I said fuck all about the headlight.

see my avatar does it look like I don't have a headlight on?

thread is about the turn signal bulbs right?

dickhead?

mack.
