nickc2s
The cooling fan usually starts at 215 degrees but did not start today. I removed the left plastic and at 230 degrees at the wires closest to the fan, there was voltage in both wires, but the fan did not operate. Where do I go from here? Motor Psycho
You had 12 volts in both wires with the fan disconnected or connected? Connected you would. Dicconnected, power in one (black/blue) the other (either black or green) is ground only when temperature switch activates. At 230 degrees and the black or green wire is not ground the switch may have failed. But also check all grounds for corosion.
Justin
did you make sure the blades spin freely? I have gotten pebbles stuck between my blades and the radiator before, binding the fan. Also, the fuse is right in the harness under the seat, be sure to check that ... $1.00 fix lol. Spin the fan, make sure it feels "normal". if you have current to both wires, pull the fan, open it up and check all the internal connections. nickc2s
Pulled the connector apart by the fan and it started fine with a jumper from the battery. Will work from the relay now, fuse is fine.
matey_peeps
Didja check your fan fuse? Mine blew once. On the 4th of July. In 110 degree heat. In traffic.
Pete in PA
While running in neutral keep the RPM's up past 2k for ten seconds and the fan should come on. Check for that. This is done so the exhaust doesn't melt the plastic fan.
